Good quality
The razor has a short , thin handle and the blade protrudes slightly from the head . The razor is surprisingly / reassuringly heavy and of good quality ; nicely weighted when in use . Easy to use - gives a BBS shave as good as any other razor. Smaller razor is very manoeuvrable especially working round a goatee .

Well made attractive razor, highly traditional. Use carefully.
I bought this razor because I wanted to try a traditional, open comb design. It’s an attractively made razor in solid brass (the head pieces, too) and heavy for its size, It is really quite small in the hand. You do have to fiddle with the head to get the razor blade aligned properly. It can go in on the skew. This is a complaint I have heard from others about this razor.I soon realised I needed a particular technique for using the open comb. If I just casually shaved with it I got irritation and nicks. Use a pre shave cream and a good lather. Place the top plate flat on your skin, angle the handle until the blade is just touching, then make single strokes. Don’t apply any pressure, let the weight of the razor do the work. I can now use it without any irritation, but only shave with it once a week for a really close shave, using my Muhle 92R other days. It would be great if you have really thick beard hair, or if you missed a couple of days.

Smalll, but oho !
Small, but oho ! Small, compact, and its handle's sharpish longitudinal striations seem to allow smooth, delicate control of the rotational alignment of the razon-head, a very nice, intelligent touch, making it a real joy to use -- IF one remembers that the shortness of the handle means smoothly maintaining the cutting-angle as it proceeds around the face, as a longer handle makes simpler, because attitude-control is easier, but in overall compactness and ultimate quality of shave with the Fatip head-design. -- and especially at its modest price, I think it is an impossible act to follow. But control that angle carefully !

Good purchase and excellent shave
I read all the previous reviews regarding the potential for this being a rather aggressive shave if not handled with care. I teamed it with a feather blade and whilst I did some damage it was due mainly to me being a little heavy handed but the shave itself was BBS. I don't think I could shave everyday with this but it does give me the option compared to my usual Merkur 34c. Good overall purchase and service.

Light on the throttle, you’ll glide
I have this razor and merkur.Any safety razor can be deemed ‘aggressive’ as it doesn’t have the cushioning and multi blade arrangement that modern Gillette blade cartridges have. The key to a good shave with the fatip is light, short strokes, the blade gap is very small so nicks are unlikely with good technique. The open comb, I find, allows more shaving cream into the razor at the skin/blade interface, and leaves the skin feeling well hydrated after a shave. This razor rewards good technique and has a fantastic design, I recommend it to safety razor aficionados.

Superb and stylish little razor
This is a tiny powerhouse of a razor, which delivers a comfortable and extremely close shave. Although it's smaller than its open comb sibling, the Grande, it's actually heavier, and it feels like a substantial piece of kit despite its size. It's nickel-plated brass and, although the finish may have some minor flaws, they don't really detract from the look of the razor. It shaves like a dream: it's less aggressive than a Muhle R41 and easier to use, but delivers just as close a shave. The combination of a relatively large amount of blade exposure and the open comb means that it should deal particularly well with heavy growth, or for those who choose not to shave every day. However, I shave daily and don't have especially heavy growth, and I find it works extremely well for me as well. It delivers a close, irritation-free shave time after time, and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for something a bit more assertive than a closed comb razor.
