Tolle Karte
Ich habe mir die Karte für einen Vortrag bestellt und daraus ein tolles Plakat gebastelt. Sie ist nicht mehr ganz aktuell, aber das ist einem ja vorher bewusst.

Somewhat useless...
A well printed map on good paper showing about as much detail as any map of Afghanistan could be expected to - nowhere near as detailed as the manufacturer likes to make it sound. Unfortunately the map is printed with Northern Afghanistan on one side of the paper and Southern Afghanistan on the other making it only partially useful for the purpose I had intended - a wall display of Afghanistan in my classroom, not that that is the mapmakers fault I suppose but it would have been nice to see that in the description. Other things which were disappointing were that place names were provided only in a Romanised transliteration not in Script and the 'Legend in three languages' is written in English, French and German not, as I had hoped, in at least one of the languages native to Afghanistan. The borderline useless 'city map' of Kabul blocks out most of Pakistan East of Peshawar. Finally no information is given on who surveyed this. Aside from the military maps currently being used by Allied forces I'm not aware of any maps made in the last one hundred or so years, not entirely sure on this last point but the product itself provides no information or reassurances whatsoever.Overall this is, I suppose, good for what it is but it just didn't suit my purposes. It's rather difficult to think of a use for it to be honest. If you do want a map of Afghanistan and the 1:1.5M scale (ie bugger all detail) is good enough for your purposes yet you don't want to display it, don't want the names represented properly and don't need to know whether the information is at all accurate then this is the map for you.
