This wire is solid core, which makes it great for breadboard wire. The insulation and the wire overall is pretty rigid, so it might limit mobility, but that also means you can flex it into all sorts of positions and it'll keep its shape. The wire comes pre-tinned and is pretty solderable and is great for making quick point-to-point proto-board connections.Although probably not its intended use, a bit of wire sticks out the center of the spool, letting you have access to both ends of the wire. If you strip these ends and run current through the entire spool of wire, you'll get an instant solenoid! It's pretty strong, too, and can carry quite a bit of current before heating up. In fact, you can use it to pick up and magnetize tools! So, if you want to teach electromagnetism and can't be bothered winding your own coil, this will do the trick!

I am a hobbyist and I have gone through many reels of this wire. It is flexible, durable, and easy to manipulate, just what I need for low-voltage applications.
