SuehiroKitchen Both Sides Whetstone # 3000/# 1000 Skg-24 (Japan Import)

I have been sharpening for years with Arkansas stones with mixed results. I decided to get into water stones. So my first water stone was the KING 250/1000 and it was just okay but I was not very impressed but it was $15. Next I bought the Suehiro # 3000/# 1000 Skg-24 and WOW what a great feeling stone! the size is good and has very good feedback which lets you really feel whats going on when sharpening, it also creates a fine slurry which works as a micro abrasive for better sharpening. I bought it 50% off because it had a couple of chips but they don't effect the functionality of the stone but the price runs about 30-40 dollars and is a great value! you can also see some videos on this stone showing people getting hair splitting result. The only downside is its a combination stone and has to be soaked for about 15-20 min. the 3000 side should be soaked less but as long as you don't leave over 30min. it should be fine, The 3000 is your polishing side and that's fine for most knives that don't have super hardness specialty steels. After I bought the Suehiro I saw Naniwa #1000/#6000 combo that was just $20 with base and guide and I thought that was a great deal so I ordered it thinking it was going to be similar to the Chosera line, but you get what you pay for the feel is just like the king combo I have which works but has a hard feel with no feed back and just ok results. I was so impressed by the Suehiro that I decided to splurge after getting an amazon gift card on the New Cerax #1500 and Cerax Rika 5000 and now these are my go to stones they are like the SKG-24 but better so no need to get anymore stones for a long while. If I had to start over I would get the New Cerax 1000/3000 combo for about $45 and the Naniwa “Ryky Edition” choseras #800/3000 $89 for splash and go, I think those are the best value stones for the money, but if you can get the skg-24 for $30 or less you wont regret it.

This stone worked perfectly on my straight razor, very happy with this product.

Picture on item lists 7 in. But description reads 9 overall inches I hope this is the case since I just ordered it.

The stone works well and has detail instruction in the package. It sharpened my knives easier than all other sharpeners. But when I got it, there is an obvious break at the corner. Although it didn’t fall off, I was still a little disappointed, after all I spent $35 bucks on it.

J'utilise cette pierre pour la finition, en complément d'une pierre d'entrée de gamme Shan ZU avec laquelle je commence pour les couteaux qui ne coupent plus rien.Evidement ça n'a rien à voir niveau qualité, et avec cette Suehiro j'obtiens assez facilement un tranchant rasoir sur tous mes couteaux, bien que je débute dans l'affûtage, il suffit de ne pas avoir 2 mains gauches, de s'appliquer pour bien conserver le bon angle lors de l'opération. Très satisfait du produit.

他の方のレビューにありましたが、研ぎ汁が出やすい砥石で、不慣れな人でも扱い易いという印象です。特にステンレスは研ぎ易く感じました。一様に整っている質感で、安心して使えます。研ぎ汁が出やすいということで、減りは早く感じます。色々とこだわり出すと物足りなくなるのかもしれませんが、個人的には気に入っています。初めての砥石にオススメです。

Plein de particules dures sur les deux faces, raye la lame et la pierre. Pourtant cette pierre 1000/3000 a une bonne réputation, le l’ai retourné et j’attends une new cerax

Produit de bonne qualite. Pour le moment j'ai affûté mes ciseaux a bois avec. Le résultat est satisfaisant. Penser a acheter une plaque pour dresser la pierre car elle va vite s'user. À compléter avec une pierre a 6000 je pense.
