Lobo Envelope Packet Thai Paste, Tom Ka, 1.76 Ounce (Pack of 3)

Lemongrass is a PITA to grind up on your own so this is a fantastic shortcut to a very nostalgic childhood flavor (if you're Thai.)

This paste is absolutely delicious - I crave it so I always have at least one package on hand. It's very salty (I've been limiting my salt due to high blood pressure), but again, it's SO good I have to splurge once in awhile. To make the soup I use I pkg of paste,, 1 can of coconut milk (unsweetened), 1 cup water, tofu (I used the whole box), broccoli (1/2 bag frozen), mushrooms (whole box), 1/2 green pepper, and 1/3 of the box of fine rice noodles. Chicken, shrimp, etc. could also be added. You may want to add more water, but I like my soup thick.

I really liked the flavor, and it was definitely the best value on the market for Tom Ka. That said, while I am a big fan of spice, I have never had such a spicy tom ka soup in a restaurant. This is REALLY spicy. So long as spiciness is a welcome part of the flavor spectrum for you, you will love this. I would def buy it again - but wish they would tone down the spice a wee bit.

This Lobo Tom Ka Paste is the best! I’ve looked for it in Asian markets near me and haven’t found it. I make TomKa soup with chicken and coconut milk and vegetables and it is a favorite with our family. Glad I can get this on Amazon!

When we want a big batch of soup this fits the bill. Not as good as takeout but it has its place
