Hotel Transylvania is an American 3D computer animated fantasy comedy movie, directed by the creator of Dexter’s Laboratory, Genndy Tartakovsky. The movie stars the voices of Adam Sandler (as Dracula), Selena Gomez (as Mavis), and Andy Samberg (as Jonathan a.k.a. Johnnystein). The movie was nominated for the Golden Globe Award for the Best Animated Feature Film. Adam Sandler won the Kid’s Choice Award for the Favourite voice from an animated movie.Count Dracula, an overprotective father, owns a massive 5 star hotel named Hotel Transylvania, which he built after his wife’s death, to raise his daughter Mavis, and to serve as a getaway for all the world’s monsters. On Mavis’s 118th birthday, Dracula allows her to step out of the castle to explore the human world, but sends two zombies in disguise, to scare Mavis off the human world, so that she returns home and agrees to stay safe with her father forever. Unknowingly, Jonathan "Johnny", a 21-year old human, is lured into the castle by the zombies. Dracula frantically dismisses him as a distant relative.He is worried that the news of his presence can be negative for his business because the monsters staying at his hotel are terrified of humans. But much to Dracula’s dismay, not only do they discover his true identity, but his own daughter falls in love with Johnny, and the two "zing" (the monsters’ term for a magical, romantic attraction). When Dracula confesses to Johnny about his hatred towards humans because a human was the reason behind his wife’s death, Johnny understands and empathises with him, and decides to leave Mavis and the castle out of respect for Dracula. But Mavis is upset and she wants to be with Johnny at all cost, which ultimately forces Dracula to give into his daughter’s wishes and unite the two. But a wrench is thrown into his plans when he realises that Johnny is already on a plane out of Transylvania.Hotel Transylvania was released by Sony Pictures in 2013 in Blu-ray format. The movie has a total runtime of 91 minutes and is rated U. It is available in English with English and Hindi subtitles.
