I recommend this book to all seekers
This was a good book. I am always searching for deeper spiritual insight and this book did not disappoint. I definitely liked some sections more than others but even if I only learned one thing that enhances my spiritual growth then I am happy. This book provided more than one thing.I am a Christian but am always open to other interpretations of the divine....in this case by a Rabbi.

Good old book, with a lot of helpful information
I first ran across the name of this book, and the name of its author, in the book called "Good Grief" by Granger E. Westberg. Having gotten some value out of Westberg's brief book, but wanting more information, I initially bought this book just for the one chapter that Westberg's book said was so great. And yeah, once I had the "Peace of Mind" book in hand, I found that one chapter, alone, ("Grief's Slow Wisdom") made this book's price well worth it to me.

Wonderful thinker. He makes you think and consider things ...
Found a marvelous quote by Rabbi Liebman in "GOOD GRIEF". I decided to search to see if he wrote anything else. Turns out the quote was from the only book he wrote - PEACE OF MIND. He died at age 41 in 1946! His writing is just as fresh and meaningful today as it was one year after the end of WWI. I have been through PEACE OF MIND once and keep it around to reread when I have a little bit of time. Wonderful thinker. He makes you think and consider things before you proceed. I am very happy that I was led to this book.

There are two important ways to describe this great book: 1
There are two important ways to describe this great book:1. A review of mental health & personal growth from the late 1940's, a time when psychology was emerging onto the American landscape in a big way. And psychology was rubbing shoulders with religion. Sort of the new kid on the block. Liebman respects both, yet provides clear distinctions.2. Even as 2014 comes to a close, Peace of Mind still does its job. If the reader wishes to gain tremendous insight into a healthier outlook on life, this is the way to do it. Liebman, with plenty of backup, describes in detail how and why a gentler, calmer, and more peaceful way of life is the way to go. Let me correct myself, it more than does its job. Anyone caught up in the swift current of today's world, unable to experience "peace of mind" must stop everything they are doing right now and read this book. Amen.

In did not care for this book. Not an easy read so maybe down the road it will be more appealing to me.

"Peace of Mind": A perfect title for today's times
Joshua L. Liebman, Rabbi of Temple Israel, Boston, MA, wrote what has been considered one of the very first "self-help" books. I bought it because growing up in the late '30s-early '40s I remember that it had a very prominent place on my Father's bookshelf. And, Rabbi Liebman was one of the very few Clergy (of any faith) that he held in high regard. I haven't read it as yet, but, I wanted to see what the message was & if it has held up in the intervening 70+ years.
