I have purchased so many journals in my lifetime, I don't even want to admit how many. It feels like I am on the never-ending search to find the perfect journal at the perfect price point (aren't we all?). Let me tell you how I'm using my journal and what I like about it so far.I wanted a journal to keep a reading diary where I can maintain a reading log each time I read, write down summaries of the books I'm reading, keep general notes about the books, etc. I typically use three primary pens in my journals: Muji gel pens, Pigma Microns, and the Uni Jetstream. So far, I have had no issues with ghosting or bleed-through with the Muji and Microns. I was impressed by this! (If you are unaware, ghosting is when you can see a shadow of the ink on the underside of the page. Bleed-through is when the ink actually seems through to the other side of the page.) The Uni Jetstream is definitely the "juiciest" pen that I use and I do see a good amount of shadowing, but I expected this with 100 GSM paper. Even my journal with 120 GSM has ghosting with this pen. I also use Tombow Brush Pens and saw no ghosting/bleed-through.The construction of the journal is very decent for the cost. It has two ribbon bookmarks, numbered pages, an elastic band to keep the journal closed or mark your page, and an elastic pen holder. The binding is constructed such that the journal can be open and lay completely flat, which is a feature that I love about it. The leather cover also feels like solid quality and it came wrapped in plastic. It would make a great gift!

The paper is smooth and thick (nice).Which may lead one to believe that at 100 GSM and with 320 pgs it's a perfect choice for writing with a FP.You'd be incorrect.Feathering: with wetter inks (such as Pilot's 100th anniversary ink, Ebisu) feathering is *very* pronounced, unbearably so.However, if you use a dryer ink, the paper proved to hold up much better with a touch of feathering around pooled ink.Bleedthrough: you will see some (even with a drier ink), but not to the point where the back of the page is unusable.All in all, I think the value is there for what you get.If you're going to use your favorite fountain pen ink, then I suggest proceeding with caution and taking into consideration what I've mentioned.Thanks for reading.

I work as a researcher and I got this notebook to use as a lab notebook for my personal notes. I like the soft leather cover this notebook has, but for the first few days that I used I noticed an odd smell coming from it. I really noticed it when I was in the car with the windows closed driving to work. I think whatever dye they used on the leather didn’t fully cure and it was off-gassing. However, after 3 days or so it no longer smells. So all I can say is don’t expect that good “new book” smell from this journal. Also, as you can see from the photo some of the pages have discoloration. It does not impact the paper’s integrity - I can write on the discolored areas all the same - but there are splotches on probably 10 or so of the pages throughout the journal.

This Journal is badass and I use it for my Aviation notes. It's flexible and allows me to throw the pencil in there and then wrap the rubber elastic around it which gives me lots of options to take lots of stupid notes on miscellaneous items or draw pictures to represent illustrations of things I have experienced with windflow over the wing or whatever the case may be. This thing rocks, get one now!!! :)

I needed a journal in that I could keep a detailed daily health log in for my doctors to help find the cause of my illness so I thought it would be best to get a really big journal. The soft cover of this journal is thick and protective so it can endure traveling with me everywhere that I go. The pages are of a good thickness and they are not easy to tear. This journal has two cloth page markers and an elastic closure too. I think the best features of this journal are the table of contents pages, the numbered pages, and the storage folder inside of the back cover. I will happily buy another one of these journals when this one is full, I believe it was worth the price I paid for it.

B5, Black Journal: Arrived with one corner mashed in (I assume that is why it was on sale); I don't need to use it right now so it is now sitting underneath a pile of heavy books to straighten it out. Not a gift, does not seem to interfere with the function of a notebook, and otherwise, seems OK. Paper seems adequately thick (not the thickest, not the thinnest) and very smooth. Paper is very off-white almost beige and the lines on the page are not heavy (if that matters to you). Please note (as someone else has), that the NUMBERED pages are 316 because it has a few Contents pages in the front.

Smooth cover, nice to the touch. lays flat, 2 ribbons, very smooth, nice to touch pages, light creamer page, 2 index pgs, nice back pocket, page numbers, good date location, lines seems less notisable since they are dashed. Good outside texture, hard cover.Almost identical to Emshol (green)has thicker pages 160gsm.Rettancy diference in page qty, cover texture, 2 for the price of one.

I rarely write reviews, however this notebook is probably the best notebook I’ve owned so I wanted to take a min to tell you why. I’m always on the hunt for the “perfect” notebook, as I’m an avid note taker for work and this one has exceeded my expectations! This is very well made and will stay in tact till the end. The paper quality is great to write on. It has two ribbon book markers and a built in folder compartment in the back which is nice and the cover material is nice. Flexible but not too flexible. All in all this is a 5 star rating by a long shot and I will most definitely be ordering more in the future!!
