These last a very long time and stay airtight. The rubber gasket can be removed to wash separately every now and then, but usually just throw in the dishwasher or rinse by hand.

I use these to freeze my lunches. Nice quality and size.

I use it for my dog's frozen food once it's defrosted. perfect fit, keeps it fresh. easy too clean.

Some other reviewers seem to have had trouble with the clasps, but the difficulty in closing the lid is a function of the thick rubber gasket that creates the waterproof seal (these really are leakproof). I love these SNAP containers and use both these 3-cup and the 5.1-cup models to take food home from work each day. I've been using them for the better part of a year now without incidents.I only have two caveats. One, the gaskets must be removed and washed separately once in a while because they get funky. Two, the plastic scratches and melts easily, and after almost a year of daily duty my containers are starting to look pretty rough. For what these cost, though, I can't really see any way to improve them without making them heavier or more expensive.

If you have arthritis or physical hand difficulties, these are very hard to open & close. I donated them to a local charity.

Good for packing lunches or leftovers.

Pay attention . . . was trying to order OXO glass storage containers . . . this is plastic. Such a waste! So disappointed.

Why can't all containers be like this?

I bought this because it was supposed to be leakproof and the first time I used it, it leaked everywhere. Still searching for a good leakproof container.

I wanted to get away from plastic dishes and have glass container with locking plastic lid. That is not the case for not just this container but others. I was ordering another Oxo larger size which was glass. Reminder to self, read the fine print on each item. Also note I was going to buy a slightly larger container than this one but was able to cancel when I realized it too was plastic AND the price was 12.49 and when I went back to check if it was plastic the very next day it was now 4.99 so I would have overpaid significantly had I not caught it.
