Boom. Seriously, boom.
Reading the product descriptions of this and other MR16 bulbs, this one claimed to be usable in indoor fixtures, i.e. where I currently have MR16 bulbs installed. I gather that other MR16 bulbs can only be used in special fixtures with a transformer.But they don't work in my current MR16 sockets. I plugged one in to test, flipped the switch, and BOOM. It fried.In case it was just a bad bulb, I put in a second. Flipped the switch, BOOM.I can read a technical spec. I thought I was getting something that would work in the existing MR16 fixture. I was wrong. It's a pity, because this would have been a really nice enhancement to my bar area.

(final update: 3 stars, C/S A+, but the bulbs are unreliable.....
When functioning, the product is excellent - good hues and very responsive to adjustments. Automation was easy to set after initial WiFi registration. I really enjoyed coming back home in the evening to see that my sconces were lit, and it was a good feeling knowing that I wasn't letting energy go to waste, with the lights automatically switching off at dawn.I was smitten, and ordered two more (for a total of six) as backup, in case the initial ones died prematurely.....Unfortunately that did come to pass. The unit suffers from two faults that quickly became apparent after the honeymoon period.First, WiFi connection was routinely misreported as being disconnected when the unit was actually connected. I utilized four of these bulbs -two to a fixture- in a set of twin outdoor sconces. They worked great for abut a week, but after about 7 days, one or more bulbs started to report via the App that it was having trouble connecting: yet, it always still switched on/off (with the correct hue) with the other two/three bulbs. I have a very robust WiFi setup for my home, and the sconces themselves are placed very close one of the routers (~10 ft to one fixture, ~15 feet to another), and while all bulbs showed strong connectivity, three of the four eventually malfunctioned.Only a couple of days later, the trouble really started and the bulbs started to "burn out" one by one. Currently, 3 of the 4 that I have are non-functional: they will not turn on at all.Given these were ~$22 for a pair, they're not all that much cheaper than the Phillips Hue A19s that I use for my back patio features. To be honest, I was disappointed that they failed so soon, after the items rather terrific initial showing. The much cheaper Amazon Basics MR16 LEDs (traditional "dumb" bulbs) have been flawless in the same fixture, and I have switched back to them...but am sad to lose the automation.I will try to make contact for warranty replacement of these bulbs, and report-back.---- Update 1/4/2023Seller customer service has been excellent. They initiated contact after seeing my review and offered troubleshooting advice as well as immediately shipped replacements: all through the holidays!Having made quite a number of online purchases since 1993, this level of proactive customer service is still a rarity, in my experience, and I am very glad that I chose to purchase these bulbs over others, based on customer service alone.I will check back when I have received the replacements and have tried them again. It is my sincere hope that they work, because I really liked the convenience as well as output/features of these bulbs, while they worked!---- Update 1/7/2023Replacements from vendor have arrived! I will hopefully be installing them later this week.---- Update 1/20/2023Of the four (4) replacements sent by the vendor, one was immediately defective upon install. At some point during the initial rapid-blink sequence, this particular unit "burned out" and neither lit up again nor was able to be found via WiFi. As with previous failures, I insured that this was not my light fixture that was causing the problem as a simple Amazon Basics MR16 LED plugged into the same location saw perfect function.Unfortunately, the bulb that I replaced it with (I had separately purchased yet another two of these bulbs -a third purchase- I had intended for these to be my spares) also failed nearly immediately. This unit started off its pairing sequence with the usual full-power rapid blinking, but then seemed to "short out" - it blinked more rapidly than the others, and also only at a fraction of the brightness. Since I had one more spare bulb left (from the third purchase), I was also able to replace this one.I was then able to successfully pair all bulbs, adjust brightness (although one out of the four registered "318% brightness," when set to 30% - I was not able to get this to reset, but the bulb did shine what I thought was the appropriate, 30% brightness, as I had set the others to), and set all of the bulbs' schedule timers and notifications via the SmartLife Home app.I was again disappointed that only hours later at the time when I scheduled the lights to turn on, I received only two schedule notifications - the other two bulbs did not turn on as-scheduled, and was also unreachable via the app, which noted that they were offline and not reachable via WiFi. When I looked to see if the lights were on, sure enough, they were not: sadly, they had also "burned out."Even though I really had high hopes for the replacements sent by the vendor (who I must say have been very communicative, friendly, and offered excellent customer-service!) and really liked both the output of these lights (color and brightness) as well as the ability to easily schedule on/off behavior, their awful reliability/durability means that I will be (again) returning these via Amazon, and will NOT be seeking replacements.Final review: 3 stars overall. A full 5 stars for the excellent customer-service, but only 1 star for the bulbs themselves due to lack of reliability/durability.

Theses are great to be able to color change...the white light could be brighter, and the wifi receivers are weaker than expected sohad to really position my eero properly

Great purchase definitely recommend!
These LED lights were amazing! Everything it said it would do worked with flying colors. You can make or pick the color or colors, chose how bright you want the light to be, you can also chose a certain time you want the light to turn off or on, plus many more cool and fun futures. Overall I definitely think this product is something that you should look in to buying if you are looking for a good quality LED light. Plus the shipping was so fast it came in 2 days.

2 of 4 bulbs ordered don't work after 6 months
When I first installed these bulbs, after a bit of work, I got 3 of these to install on my router. They worked properly about 90% of the time. I had 4 bulbs total but only needed 3, so I had a spare. All 3 bulbs are about 10 ft or less from the router. Yesterday, one bulb completely failed and will not turn on in the socket (other lights work in the socket).I replaced the burned light with the spare, but it will not connect to my WiFi. I reset the other 2 lights (and moved them around in the sockets) to be sure that the 2 bulbs were at fault, not my WiFi setup or use of the SmartLife app. I successfully reset the 2 good lights (connected them to WiFi), but the 3rd light (which I had not used before now), will not connect (although it works as a light). My router does not have a limit on WiFi connections - and I was able to add the 2 other lights as new connections after the WiFi on the replacement bulb failed.I am unhappy that 2 of 4 LED lights failed after about 6 months of use. They are unreliable.

Works great
Took me a few minutes to get it connected to Wi-Fi, but I just had to make sure to connect to the 2.4 gigahertz band, and then everything work perfectly.

Poor Bluetooth connection in metal lights
I have the BLX502 Bluetooth mesh version and brass landscape lights that seem to block the weak signal on these bulbs. Your luck may improve with plastic lights.As I was setting these up in the Smart Life app with the landscape housing lens cover off, half the attempts to add device time out. After a painstaking process to connect all 10 lights and placing the lens covers back on, almost none of the devices show up.In their video, they admit there is a 10-20 second delay for a bulb to show up on refresh. So I held the phone right next to all 10 lights for 1 minute each and only 2/10 connected. Obviously this is unworkable.I found that by taking the lens cover off for better connection, I had a better connection rate.Also, in case this helps others, I found that dragging down to refresh in the Smart Life app very rarely has any effect. Force closing the app and reopening it causes many lights to show up where multiple drag-to-refreshes did nothing, and so I suspect that the drag to refresh isn't actually doing anything with the Bluetooth connections.
