Tiny & functional!
EDIT 7/20/19: Love this lantern so much I purchased a second one for another person! They were amused at how tiny it is but liked how virtually light-weight the lantern is and its ability to clip onto a pack or hang from a tent.-I actually laughed at how adorably tiny this lantern was when I unboxed it. When tested in a lightless room, it offered enough illumination to make out my surroundings just fine. I imagine that it will do an even better job inside my 2-person dome tent, and better still inside my 1-person bivy tent.It clips perfectly to the outer straps of my 40l backpack and weighs absolutely nothing. I imagine it will be a perfect source of light without being any kind of burden to weight or space. For anyone looking to trek minimally, or any excursionist obsessed with cutting on weight, this would be an excellent choice for light. When the weather gets less tricky and I am able to field test this itty-bitty lantern, I will aim to update this review.

Really quite usable light and they use CR2032's... yea!
Awhile back I noticed I had amassed a slew of CR2032 batteries and didn't really have anything to put them in... So I saw this and bought a couple (I'm a flash-a-holic) cause they take 2 CR2032's each... Boy was I surprised! These little buggers are GREAT! They light up a decent sized room with readily usable light (IMHO), you get a very sturdy clip to attach to whatever (Coghlan's, loose the flash function) and they're small and sturdy. Best of all, I getta use up all the stoopid CR2032's I've somehow accumulated. Can't wait to take this camping (tent light anyone?)

Bright little sucker. Perfect for hanging on the hammock ridgeline.
I keep a pair of these strung on my hammock's ridgeline at all times. I camp in my hammock and having these little lights to illuminate my space below the tarp is great. No, it's not a 60 watt lamp, but it does throw a lot of light and helps you locate things in the dead of night. Like most other battery lanterns, most of the light goes out, not down, but as I said, I'm not using it to read Dickens. That would require a better illuminator. It also has a flash mode to save battery life, though it has an LED bulb and I've not burned mine out after a year.I look for them on sale and buy them when I can. They're impressively powerful for their diminutive size.

Bright and Tiny
This costed $7 and some change. I don't normally like lights that run on button cell batteries, but for some reason, this one caught my attention. The Coghlan's Micro Lantern runs on two CR2032 button cell batteries, and two Panasonics are included. Your local dollar store probably sells these batteries in a two-pack for a buck. The battery life is advertised at 25 hours, or 50 hours on the flashing setting. Output is advertised as 3.5 lumens, but mine seems brighter; maybe 7 or 8 lumens. Perhaps that's just because the batteries are fresh. The light is provided by one white 5mm Nichia LED. The top of the light comes off if you turn it, then pull. It's O-ring sealed, and consists of a reflector and plastic "shade" like a lamp. The light will still work with the top off, but the LED bulb will be exposed. The bottom unscrews to make room for the two button cell batteries, and it's O-ring sealed as well. This thing is pretty water-resistant. It's compact too: it's smaller than my thumb. The switch is on the side, and is rubber-coated. Press once for on. Press again for the flashing mode, which puts out about two pulses per second. Press a third time for off. You have to cycle through all the modes to turn the lantern off. In pitch darkness, this is a nice welcome. I can read a book comfortably with this thing six feet away. Attached is a lobster clasp keychain, which I'll replace with some 550 cord. There's nothing wrong with the keychain; it's just not what I prefer. This will readily attach to your purse or backpack, but I think it's a tad too bulky for keychain or jacket zipper use. The construction is very good quality; it just has a solid feel, with nothing flimsy. I plan on ordering another one for my daughter's camping bag.If you have a steady supply or source of CR2032 batteries (again, try the dollar store) this is a great little lantern. It surpasses my expectations in terms of output and ruggedness.

Two Different Versions? Green vs Black
I think they changed these a little, and you can tell by the color. I have an older one that is green, and the button is easy to press. I just ordered another, and it's black. The button on the black one is much harder to push. I can see advantages to both. Someone maybe complained that it was too easy to push and was turning on accidentally, so that might be the reason they changed it. I personally prefer the easier to push button. I wish they made both types and just sold them as different models.

Great little light
Just what I was looking for. A compact light to use in the tent while camping. Quite bright, actually masked half of the dome with a piece of electrical tape and added a lanyard made from 550 cord. Perfect!

... taken these little lamps to Africa and they are amazing little lights
I have taken these little lamps to Africa and they are amazing little lights. They are small and easy to pack. They throw an amazing amount of light when the powers is out. These have become my gift to friends who are traveling to areas where the powers is not very dependable.

cheap but cheerful
it's not exactly the worlds sturdiest lantern but it is tiny, works and fills the need. bright enough to read to in complete darkness (just) and you really can't argue with the size....

Fit for purpose
Very good for hanging from a tent to stay there at all times. Switch could be better - hardly any tactile feed back. Does not replace an actual camping lantern.

Good little light
Had to replace batteries straight away, otherwise a good little light for camping.

Do not order more than 1 at a time!!!
Ordered 1. Great. Ordered 2 more. I of them was old, green (not as pictured) with rust on it. I through it out, because it would not stay on. Very unhappy here.
