I started using this fan when I got it.I was super excited putting this on my MSI GS65. Unfortunately, It didn't benefit my laptop like it suppose it.As I was gaming, the fan continued to blow out air.As I was playing, i heard a loud screeching noise and I thought it was the fan. Once i turned off the two fans...I realized it was my laptop right fan that was not working properly anymore.I usually don't have issues playing games on my brand new laptop, but after two days using the fan, my right fan on my laptop didnt function anymore...My laptop is in warranty, but it cost me $47 to send it out to california to fix with a turn around time of three weeks...All I can concluded from this experience is...the fan didn't do its' job, because the end result was my internal fan didn't function properly after using the fan for two days...

Pros:~ The temperature display is very valuable.~ Fan is strong and fairly quiet.~ It is nice not having a bulky undercarriage but rather a side mount.~ It pulls air out of computer rather than the undercarriage types that push air into them. Pulling is superior.~ Multiple fan speeds provide customized control of both speed and volume level.~ It can be mounted with either suction cups or double-sided tape. The tape seems to bond strongly.Cons::~ Mounting instructions not thorough.~ There seems to be no way to get back to auto mode once manual is selected. Even after turning off and on again.~ Yet in manual mode after turning off it does not remember fan speed.~ In auto mode there is no way to adjust the default temperature target~ I would like the option to use electric outlet to reduce heat generation by loading USB port with fan current.Unknown:~ Durability and reliability are not known because I just installed it.~ Effectiveness of suction mount not known because I selected the other method.

Great item. Completely exceeded my expectations. Maybe one of my best purchases ever.I had serious doubts this thing would connect properly although I never doubted the idea nor the output of the fan. After about 10 minutes of playing around I figured out how to connect it with the right shroud, and the very ingenious slide on/off feature so you can quickly remove the entire unit if you have to thrown your laptop in the case and run out the door. Bottom line - take the time to connect this right and it works flawlessly, literally has breathed new life into my laptop which has a faulty stock fan. It literally 'blows' away any laptop cooling tray you could use.Highly recommend using the included 3M mounting tape which attaches the base place harness to the bottom of your laptop. This way, the fan apparatus slides right in and the shroud comes up to the laptop making a seal. Think of some space movie you've seen where they have to dock a shuttle with an larger mothership, and an airlock with seal comes and attaches to the craft. That is exactly what happens here for a nice airtight seal. The springy silicone shroud accomplishes this. The unit itself attaches to the base harness plate via a metal clip system which is also secure but easy on & off. Lastly there are two tiny arms that swing out (this perplexed me for the first few tries) but once you figure this out, it's the last secure step to stabilize the unit from the TOP of your laptop. This is the part you see atop, the two tiny gray arms that grip the side of your laptop near the keyboard. These work in tandem with the metal bracket out of view on the bottom.Here's the 'cool' part - when you need to take the unit off to stow your laptop in it's bag or head to the coffee shop or airport, the entire unit slides right off in 2 seconds leaving NOTHING on your laptop but the permanent tiny 3M harness which is on the bottom of your laptop but does not protrude or stick out in anyway. Therefore you'll have no problem storing your laptop or popping it into your laptop bag or sleeve. This is one incredible design feature and at first deterred me from buying because I didn't see this explained too well. Rest assured, the whole unit is completely and easily removable in seconds, and only takes about a half a minute to reinstall.Once its on and your laptop is running, it's up to you whether you run it in auto mode where it senses the temp or if you want to run it in manual mode and pick the speed yourself, but read on to learn some important differences between auto & manual.There is one major point here to note - if you are using this on a laptop with a broken stock fan, yes it will actually replace the need for a new onboard fan in most cases. You could never do this on a PC which can burn out a processor if overheating, but on most laptops the stock fan is routed in a series of venting pathways that simply vent to the outside where this unit attaches. By attaching this unit and having it on, it basically keeps great airflow going and I have never needed to replace my faulty fan and I use my laptop everyday (if there's ever a problem, the PC senses a possible overheat and hibernates or shuts down your PC well before damage occurs. I only know this because it happened a few times before I got the OPOLAR working and setup. Now it never happens. Anyway the reason I am taking the time to go into detail here is, if you have a laptop with a faulty fan and are buying this unit for this purpose, you HAVE TO RUN THE OPOLAR IN MANUAL mode from the moment you turn on your laptop and do so by kicking the speed up to at least 7 or 8 (pressing the speed buttons converts the unit to manual mode). Here's why: of you keep the unit in auto mode, it attempts to sense the temperature coming out of your laptop and will not suck enough air until it thinks your laptop is heating up and needs it. Well, if you have a faulty built-in fan that isn't blowing enough air, your laptop can overheat before the OPOLAR even knows it needs to start blowing faster, because the hot air is sitting in your laptop and not getting to the thermostat in the OPOLAR because your built in fan isn't moving the air! The solution for this is to run the OPOLAR in manual mode right away it gets the air moving immediately by pressing one of the speed buttons. Even with a faulty fan not running at all inside my computer, I can run my laptop normally with this amazing unit. Most people wont need to go through these steps, but if you have a bad fan and the repair shop tells you its going to cost as much as a new laptop to fix it due to it's location, then the OPOLAR is your best friend, and mine. This thing works WAY better than a cumbersome cooling tray. Also make sure you aren't blocking the bottom intake vents, and your laptop is sitting high enough off the table. I installed some extra rubber feet on mine to give it another 1/4 of lift so more air can get underneath to the air intake. Sometimes keeping the laptop on your pantlegs or a couch can totally block the bottom intake ports and no fan will keep your laptop cool if you make this mistake. If there's any small negative, it's that if you transport your laptop in and out of a case often, you'll need to remove and reattach the main cooler to the laptop each time. This is generally a quick process but it's a precise process of lining up the sleeve and slot, at times it's a little aggravating but not the fault of the product. Sometimes the metal plate disengages from the unit and I have to reattach it, I'm fixed this problem with a piece of electrical tape so it never comes off. A small price to pay for an excellent item. I like it so much I'm getting a spare.Totally amazing product and I have no relationship to the company. I just love great engineering and great products and this is one of those.

i have a 2019 purchased, fully spec'd out Alienware 17 R5. Yes, it is the one that costs over 4 grand with the i9 coffee lake processor and the 1080 OC edition graphics card. This laptop is notorious for overheating and even all the other lesser spec 17 R5's are all known for overheating. I've tried everything from re-pasting both CPU and GPU with Kryonaut Grizzly thermal paste which only helped by a few degrees celsius and ive decided long ago to run the internal fans at full speed 24/7 which is ridiculously noisy. after these changes my max temps my CPU would hit was 150 celsius and the GPU would hit 100 Celsius.after purchasing 2 of these Opolar LC06 vent fans and attaching one to each side of the rear facing vents, my max temps for the CPU is now 97 Celsius and GPU is 69 Celsius. that sounds too good to be true and i wouldnt have believed it either if i were told the same prior to purchasing these things but now that ive witnessed the drastic cooling effect with my own eyes, i must take the time to spread this news with others when i normally would careless about writing such reviews. i attached pics for proof of temps. also, i attached pics for help on exactly where and how to mount these vents coolers onto the back of the 17 R5.i cant vouch for how well these things work on other brands and models of laptops but if you have an AW 17 R5, this is a must buy for you! and you need to buy 2 of these to optimize the cooling effect. btw, it also helps to keep the rear of the laptop elevated so that theres enough room underneath the laptop for airflow.

I never ever leave reviews on the products I buy, but with this one, I absolutely had to! Please read if you are in doubt of the quality of this product. In 2019, I decided to buy the Dell Latitude E7240 Laptop and have spent quite a good amount of money on it since I upgraded the RAM and the storage capacity. The laptop is an amazing model which I fell in love with. I use it mostly for school and work, but I also like to use it to play video games. Turns out it runs the games pretty well and smoothly, but the temperature of my CPU and other hardware parts would get instantly dangerously hot, putting at risk the life of the PC as a whole. Even browsing on websites that were not optimized enough or streaming HD videos would put at risk the hardware of the laptop and would make the casing extremely hot, almost burning my skin through my jeans when I would put in on my laps.I was extremely doubtful about cooling products to help with this problem and did not find any clear solutions for my problem with this exact model, but when I found this cooling fan, which attaches to the side of the notebook, my hopes went back up. My laptop uses mostly, if not only this part of the casing as an heat dissipator vent. I decided to buy it and try it out. I've recieved it today and have been testing it a lot, putting my PC under a lot of extreme pressure, pushing it to it's very limits. The temperature of my CPU would get around 60 to 70 degrees Celcius when I would use it casually (Web browsing, document writing and so on...) and would go around 80 to 90 degrees Celcius when playing a game (Only within the first 5 to 10 minutes of playing!!!!). BUT with this device attached to the side of my PC, I'm getting even lower temperatures that I was getting with casual use before when now playing games on the full capacity of my hardware!!! I am now reaching a max of 65 degrees Celcius playing heavy 3D games and never worry that it will get hotter or will put my laptop at risk, the base is extremely cool, so I can put it on my laps with no worries AT ALL!So if your laptop is overheating a lot, and the dissipation of the heat comes out mainly out of the side vent, I recommend this device sooooo much! It is a LIFE SAVER, THANK YOU so much to OPOLAR for this amazing product, I am more than satisfied, and cannot wait to test out more of your products. El producto tiene un diseño que podría parecer eficiente; sin embargo, si tienes cualquier equipo que no sea una laptop gamer (muy gruesa), NO TE SERVIRÁ, ya que aunque tiene 3 tamaños de salida de aire (goma de contacto: ventilador a laptop), no sirven para equipos delgados comunes, siendo que queda el ventilador muy grande y si tu equipo lo colocas en una plataforma inclinada, el ventilador se caerá, aunque tiene una base delgada para pegar bajo la laptop, no soporta bien el ventilador, y se cae después de unos minutos. Es un diseño interesante con la patas con resorte para fijarse al equipo, ya que se mantiene cerca para evitar que se escape el aire en el equipo grueso; es decir para equipos exclusivamente laptop gamer.Si tienes o decides que adquirirás un equipo convencional laptop, no compres este ventilador, ya que es costoso, y no te servirá. Tardó 1 mes en llegar. Al probarlo comprobé que no servía para mi equipo HP Spectre, y el proveedor no aceptó la devolución, aún nuevo (sin usar y con su empaque original). Fue pérdida total. Desgraciadamente compré dos. El proveedor me recomendaba regalarlos, pero no lo hice, ya que si de antemano sé que no funcionará para equipos comunes, es regalar problemas. De cualquier forma, fue pérdida total del dinero, y aunque Amazon.com.mx solicitó el apoyo del proveedor, éste no aceptó la devolución.Si tienes una laptop gamer, será buena elección; cualquier otra laptop, no te arriesgues a perder tu dinero. My gaming laptop had server thermal issues the GPU and CPU temperatures were way too high my laptop would often crash because of how hot it would get after I got the coolers it fixed everything GPU and CPU temps are great and I can game for long periods of time

Fan improved performance of my laptop. Temperatures dropped good few degrees and now laptop is more stable while playing games, including increased FPS due to lack of thermal throttling.Must have product for all gaming laptops with poor thermal distribution.

I don't usually write reviews but this product compelled me to do so.The laptop I use is MSI GF65 RTX version. The game I usually play on it is called Rust. It's a pretty graphic intense game but with my laptop's specs it should run pretty smoothly or so I thought. The game would initially run at 100 fps and then drop to 30-60 fps range in the next 5 mins and stay there forever. Reason? My laptop sucks at handling its heat (and the game's not really optimized that well). I've tried regular cooling pads and boy I can assure you they do nothing when it comes to helping improve the gaming experience.And finally, I mustered enough courage to buy this one, and I did. This product made the average fps of the game from 30-60 to 80-105. YES THIS AMOUNT OF A PERFORMANCE JUMP. I've seen stupid ads with magical promises that can never be fulfilled but holy cow this one actually does fulfill its promise. I'm extremely satisfied with the product.I know you guys are wondering about the temperature difference it made. To be honest, the software I use to calculate temperature difference didn't show any difference in temperature with and without usage of this cooler. I don't understand why either. The performance difference is phenomenal and I believe due to this reason that maybe the software I use to measure temperature isn't accurate at all.However, if you are tempted to buy this product after looking at my review, then you should keep in mind that this product didn't magically increase the performance of my laptop. My laptop was already a pretty good one in terms of specs, it just didn't perform as much as it should due to heating issues. So do not buy it if you expect it to improve your performance more than how much your laptop is capable. But buy it if your gaming experience is ruined due to excessive heat.You can mount the device to your laptop's side heat vent pretty easily. However if your laptop doesnt have a side heat vent then you can connect it to the back heat vent as long as the back heat vent is smaller in size (atleast equal in size as a normal side heat vent). If it's not the case then I do not believe this product is right for you.
