Really Good Pan With Lid
I use enameled cast iron exclusively now, mostly Lodge. I needed a smaller pan with a lid which was hard to find at a reasonable price. This pan is as good as Lodge and has become the pan that is always on the stove. Since almost all enameled cast iron now comes from China the brand is unimportant. I love this pan, but be advised it is heavy with the lid.

Excellent skillet
I waited a bit before reviewing so I’d have a good grasp of how I like the skillet first.Pros:Easy to clean and seasonCooks food perfectlyNon toxicLarge, cooks skillet dishes easily big enough for my family of sixBeautiful—lots of compliments on this oneHolds up well, SturdyCons(ish… there really aren’t any):Very heavy so if you have never handled a heavy skillet you’ll be surprised at its weight. Personally this is a pro to me, but my 60 year old mother could never lift this thing. The bottom will eventually get a little brown. I mean, it’s a skillet. You put it on heat. What do you expect? Unless you are staring at the bottom you wouldn’t know it, though, and as heavy as it is you likely won’t be doing that.It is cast iron so that means low and slow. You don’t want to turn the heat up to high on this one (or you’ll really turn the bottom brown). I’ve found that my stove top burner does well on level 4 or 5 heat out of a ten-level heat setting. It takes five minutes or so to get the surface ready to use but patience pays off because when heated and oiled properly, it doesn’t stick and mannnn does it cook well!I would have one of these in every size if I could afford to.

Very Impressed by this grill pan
This is a nice looking pan with matching press. My first cook on it tonight and I grilled a NY strip steak. Dry pre-heat, oil up the streak and applied S&P. Placed the steak once the pan reached 370 to 380 degrees F and it laid in nicely with a beautiful sizzle. The pan retained heat very well and the cook was positive the whole way through. On the flip I added a few table spoons of butter along with a string of rosemary and thyme and a crushed garlic clove. I tilted the pan and used a spoon to baste the steak with the bubbling hot compound butter. The grill marks were fantastic on both sides. Pulled at internal 125 F and covered to rest. The steak was juicy and delicious and more importantly, the pan cleaned up very easily with a light scrub using soap, sponge, and hot water. The handle did not get hot enough to burn me but you'll want to use a towel if you are going to hold it for more than a few seconds during the cook. The helper handle is convenient and the press is an exceptional matching accoutrement which will be great for bacon and panini sandos. I needed a grill pan and did not want to spend a ton for this add on to my cookware. I picked up the red one and I could not be happier with this purchase. 5 stars across the board.

Heavy - rough surface - but a overall worthwhile skillet
I was surprised by the weight of this skillet which weighs as much as an iron dutch oven (6qt). The finsih on the outside was perfect and polished. But the internal finsih was rougher than expected. Still it is easy to clean. So I expect a lot of use from this skillet.Update: after three months of use - hand washed only - there are small chips forming in the exterior paint. I find the internal surface quite rough compared to other enameled surfaces which makes it more difficult, but not impossible, to clean. Consider this a three star product.

Beautiful Pan!
First of all the color is so pretty. Exactly as shown. I love the pan but it’s by far the heaviest pan I own. Having a cover is a big plus and it’s also very heavy! The pan performs very well. Because I bought this mainly for using on top of the stove the weight is not as important. However if you’re planning on regularly using it in and out of the oven make sure you have strong muscles to support the weight! I bet it weighs over 15 pounds. It is cast iron after all... If you’re looking for a good quality pan in a beautiful color then this is for you!!!I believe the Le Cruset brand is half the weight but it’s also 4-5 times as much money! If money is no object make another choice and go with the lighter pan. If you’re on a budget like me then this is an excellent choice. I would highly recommend it. Plus the color is gorgeous!!! It looks beautiful stored on your stovetop

buyer beware of enamel quality
Decent product, but enamel chips very easily so beware. Stick with Staub or Lecruset
