OLD FASHION SOAP FOR A CLEANER KITCHEN,
From the time I was a child, washing clothes in the back yard with my mother, we used either OCTAGON or FELS NAPTHA. Of course when I grew up, left home, married… those days were forgotten. But I never forgot the cleaning power of that old fashioned soap. Years later I happened upon a stash of Octagon on a low shelf in an A&P store in Fort Benning, Ga. For old times sake I bought a bar and brought it home. Placing it at my kitchen sink where everyone came to wash their hands before meals I noticed that it not only CLEANED the hands of my husband and children, but it lasted and lasted! … and still it lasted. I stopped buying those whimpy bottles of pump soft soaps. For years we used Octagon… until, alas it was no longer made. Fels Naptha arose in my recollections and thus far, I’ve been able to find it… but even now I see it’s getting scarce! … the cost is rising… Maybe, ( I’m figuring) that if enough thrifty and knowledgeable folks begin to discover/rediscover this wonderful soap, then maybe we can revive its popularity! … In these precarious and rampantly virus-ridden days this dutiful soap is truly a life-saver! I wholeheartedly recommend Fels Naptha soap. …. PS. I’m 90 years old.

Uses if feels naptha
I grew up using fels naptha as a laundry stain remover. It worked fairly well. It does have a strong smell. So we used cleaning gloves. You would wet the stain as well as a small piece cut from the bar. Rub the stain with small piece until it was soapy and let it soak in for a few minutes. Then run the item through the wash cycle. It is a more natural cleaner, so sometimes might have to reapply before drying. I primarily use it now as a basic ingredient of my homemade laundry soap. Works very well. Using fels naptha may require more time and effort but it is a less expensive and longer lasting than most modern laundry cleaners.

A must-have if you have kids.
This is the best product out there to get mud, dirt, and grass out of baseball uniforms, socks, and other clothes.

Literally removes any stain
This is the only soap I will use to get dirt out of white baseball pants. It works like a CHARM. I am now using it in my own laundry soap along with Borax and washing soda. The scent is pleasant, not artificial or perfum-y. If you have a stain you can simply wet it, rub the bar directly on the fabric and launder according to manufacturer's directions. It gets out anything I have used it on, including my daughter's white converse high tops which she nearly ruined with bleach. It's the best.
