Must-read for network architects
The book is excellent, factual, and provides a solid 3-step model for assessing network complexity in a discrete way. I have begun incorporating complexity assessments into my day job after having read this book as it clarifies what it means to be complex, and, of course, the tradeoffs that follow.

It's simply very difficult but very informative and mind opening.
I can't say it's complex because I can't describe complexity this way. Definitely it's demanding and require focusing on what we are reading. This is the book I'll be going back to years from now.

Great non vendor specific book on network and protocol design
I have been waiting for this book. This is a great non vendor specific book on network complexity. I have almost all his books.

Russ and Jeff, thank you for writing a book ...
Russ and Jeff , thank you for writing a book that ask the right questions and speaks to the reader. I have failed CCDE twice :) , I am going for a 3rd attempt next February. What this book did is taught me the right questions and areas to consider when designing a solution. It is more than just knowing the technologies but seeing how they interact with one another and finally understanding the trade off between one approach over the other as we try to solve complex problems with minimal complexity. Bravo gentleman!

Too much theoretical for being useful, but without being scientifically rigorous
I disliked this book: too much theoretical for being useful, but without being scientifically rigorous.Very few interesting points are not enough to justify time spent reading it.I would not suggest it.

Perfect Condition and Highly Recommended Reference
Network complexity is what we can observe in our everyday technical activities. This book is narrowing the complexity with lots of details.

A must read for anyone and everyone into network design
The book is literally one of the most information laden and technically heavy in the field of network design. When I started reading the book, I realised there are so many aspects of design principles, patterns and most importantly the inherent complexity of networks that we ignore or overlook or take for granted. The kind of information presented in the book will make you much wiser than you currently are. Great piece of work by Russ and Jeff
