Altra Footwear Lone Peak All-Wthr Mid

As stated by many, boot was comfortable right out of the box. The toe box is nice and large. The boot fit a little more snug in the area just behind the toes toward the heel, but I did not notice it when hiking. I have worn the boot for road walking, boony crashing and on single track trails and I felt secure on all. I wear an 8 shoe but an 8.5 hiking boot. I purchased an 8.5 and it fit perfectly with a lighweight wool sock. I especially appreciate the amount of cushioning throughout the entire foot area. Looking forward to great hikes in this boot.Special Note: I ordered this boot as a "try for 7 days" and luckily it worked out. Don't be naive Iike I was. "try for 7 days" means "try it on in your house and make sure it looks exactly like it arrived if returning it or you will be charged. The Try for 7 days should read Try ON for 7 days, on carpet, not outside and make sure to leave no trace of your foot ever being in the boot. Just a note for others.

Love. Great toe room for toes to spread out and grip for a natural walking style, while the rest of the shoe still comfortably hugs the foot. I typically wear 9 shoes and the 9.5 worked best for me. I love the mid height top so much (ankle support without being such a heavy boot) that I might even get the low tops. Shoe is incredibly light for its size, looking forward to many trails on these. Caution to those who are not familiar with zero drop shoes - while I did not need any time to acclimate to ZD nor time to break in the boots, I would suggest going easy on miles the first few times worn - these are meant to not have significant foot shape structure to mimic a natural walking style.

These are the best hiking shoes I have ever worn. I have the same pair that are not waterproof but found them so unbelievably comfortable that I ordered the same boot but waterproof. I hike in the VT Adirondacks and NH Green Mountains/4,000 footers and was concerned the soles would not hold up but they definitely do. They feel like a sneaker but preform like a hiking boot. I have wide feet so these shoes are perfect. Previously I had to wrap my toes to prevent rubbing and bleeding but with Altra, I don't have to do any of that and at the end of a long hike my toes are just fine. I would completely recommend these hiking shoes!

As a 67 year old women who's been hiking/backpacking since I was 15 and I have always worn all leather waterproof boots. I watch a lot of hiking/backpacking videos on YouTube and everyone is wearing Altras??? That many folks cant be wrong. I ordered a pair and love them! I was worried about the comfort and keeping my feet dry. They were comfortable out of the book! As far as dry I did sprayed them with Boot Guard just to be safe. I may never wear my leather boots again, shhhh don't tell them! One reviewer mentioned that their feet were cold. I wear merino wool socks year round so cold is not an issue for me. Remember oz turn to lbs and lbs turn to PAIN! Happy hiking, AKA Birdie

I bought these boots for hiking through Scotland. I thought I'd have to break them in before the trip but they were comfortable pretty much from the start. What I appreciate most is they weigh almost nothing. The rivets for the laces are very well made. The laces stay put without being uncomfortably tight. The fit true to size. I'm a 9. I bought a 9 and that's exactly what I got. They're a bit wide at the front for my taste but I can live with that. The real disappointment is the color. One of the main reasons I bought this particular pair was they were supposed to be black. I wanted to approximate the look of my Docs, which I wear with little summer dresses but are definitely not for hiking, but these are dark gray, NOT black.One more thing: shoe companies, please stop adding weird accent colors, like the swatch of green-blue on these soles. Can't you make just one pair of hiking boots or athletic shoes that are ALL BLACK, without any other colors?

I fell in love with these shoes last year for the toebox, BUT. BUT. BUT…….After wearing them for a period of time my outerpronation was accelerated by the foot bed. Furthermore the lace straps, complete with nifty hooks invited me to tie the shoe laces tighter. I really liked this because it had the support at the ankle especially since I use them outside in the woods, on the trails, hiking.After a period of time I noticed that my toes were getting numb😱. I simply did not correlate the shoes with the numbing toes. Turns out that’s a very tight shoe laces up my ankle were cutting off my blood supply to my toes.Amazon has last year‘s shoes. I bought them not realizing about the very tight upper part where I could put the shoe on rather quickly and tie them up with the swift hooks and get going rapidly. I thought it was a good thing. You know get up and get your shoes on, and go!It wasn’t till I bought a pair of newly designed 2023 shoes, that I realized to my chagrin they had taken away the hooks to have the get up and go shoes. I wrote Altra regarding my disappointment.After I wore them for a bit of time, I realize that in fact they were better shoes. However, the foot bed was still wrong. So I talked to Altra again. They informed me that this was the wrong shoe for me, and suggested a different shoe for hiking and outdoor fun & were Gore-Tex as well.I will be returning the shoes (to both Amazon and Altra), and check to see whether Amazon actually carries the other shoe. First I will try the new shoe to make sure it actually has a new foot bed which accommodates my outer pronation.I will add that Altra has very excellent customer service. I had bought the 2023 version in a store that had very little selection in color, especially for those of us who are active outside. The only color store had to offer was a beige which would not suit out here in the country in the dirt/wet and grime where I use the shoe Almost as a fancy boot. I use the high top for that.To sum up: while the toebox is quite large, bigger than most shoes, the footbed is not totally supported on the outer part of the shoe if your pronation is toward the outside (some define as outer pronation ) vs inside pronation, apparently simply called pronation.This shor would probably be fine for a person with normal pronation, lots of support. But be aware that if you pull the laces tight at the top where the hooks are you can cut off the blood supply to your foot. Buy at your own risk.Hope this helps.

I have a few pairs of Altras and I’m a size 6 in the shoe, but had to get a 6.5 in the boot. The 6 squeezed my toes and they touched the end of the boot.The 6.5 are great - they are comfy and nice and wide so my feet have room to flex. The padding around the ankle is great and the laces nice and long. The waterproof lining makes them a little warm, so while they keep my feet dry when walking through puddles or wet grass, my feet are sweating a bit more than normal.They are a good sturdy, lightweight boot though and I’m really pleased with them. Much more practical for me than a traditional hiking boot.

Nach Umstellung auf Schuhwerk ohne Sprengung und mit breiter Zehenbox im Alltag passten mir nun meine Wanderschuhe nicht mehr ohne Schmerzen zu verursachen und Blasen zu bekommen.Daher nun der Versuch mit diesen Altras für leichte und mittlere Wanderungen.Ich finde sie wesentlich bequemer (tolle Passform an der Ferse und Zehen) als meine bisherigen Wanderschuhe (Hanwag und Lowa). Noch dazu sind sie schön leicht und der Grip gut. Auch die Zunge ist mäßig gepolstert, was ich mag. Und dicht sind sie im Regen bisher auch.Der einzige bisherige Minuspunkt, dass sie beim Abrollen ein wenig "rascheln".Würde ich jederzeit wieder kaufen.

Der Stiefel ist leicht, bequem, wasserfest, ideal für Gassi bei jedem Wetter.Ich hab die Größe bestellt die ich bei anderen Schuhen auch habe. Ich würde ihn wieder bestellen, auch wenn er beim gehen Geräusche macht
