Mikasa Swirl Square Graphite 16 Piece Dinnerware Set, Service for 4

Love the look and the color of the graphite. They’re simple but not plain. I like the glossy on the inside and matte on the outside look. One bowl was broken but a replacement was quickly received. They feel and look quality.

This is not my first experience with Mikasa. Aside from miscellaneous mugs, vases, and sundries I've accumulated over the years, I also have numerous sets of dinnerware, all of which I love. These everyday dishes meet the quality expectations I've come to expect from Mikasa; however, Mikasa is packaging this "Swirls" line differently than other dinnerware lines. Unfortunately, my experience with this packaging is less than satisfactory. I ordered three different sets from the Swirls line. All are beautiful and high quality dishes. However, all three sets were covered with a very thick layer of dust, and two out of the three sets contained a broken bowl. In both cases, it was the bottom bowl in the stack which was cracked. I am honestly surprised there was not more breakage, because the new packaging just isn't as substantial as I've experienced with other Mikasa products.Aside from the two broken pieces, the dishes are all flawless. None have even the slightest imperfection. I was excited to discover that they are exceptionally lightweight compared to most porcelain dinnerware. The design is simple, yet elegant. There is an adequate amount of solid colored surface to allow the food to be the star of the plate.While I typically consider it a waste to include tea cups with a dinnerware set (since I generally tend to only use large coffee mugs), I was very happy to see that the mugs included with this set are actually quite large.I immediately washed the entire service in the dishwasher without any issues. I then performed two important tests.First, I boiled water in one of the bowls using the microwave. The bowl held up very well. It was certainly very hot to the touch when I removed it, but I was able to remove it using my bare hands. I don't think I could have lifted it from the bottom without a potholder, but the rim of the bowl was not too hot to handle.My final test was the most important one for any dishware. I added some tomato sauce to one of the bowls and "baked" it into the dish using the microwave. I let the dish cool until the sauce was completely stuck to the surface. I am pleased to report that it cleaned up beautifully and did NOT stain the bowl! It actually cleaned easily with just water.I strongly recommend this dinnerware set. It is beautiful, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe.

I received my first set of Mikasa dinnerware more than 30 years ago and still use it today. So, I was very excited to order this set knowing it would be the same quality and it definitely is quality! This 16-piece set has 4 coffee cups, 4 cereal bowls, 4 small and 4 large plates. All of them have a glossy inside with a matted outside finish. The outside design on each piece matches with grooves around the entire piece. I really like the square design of the plates with the grooves on the edges of the plates. And the bowl is square. and the height varies with a wave type look to make it unique. Great starter set for anyone!

I really like Mikasa and I have given Mikasa dinnerware sets to friends in the past. This set is no exception and really matches with what you expect from Mikasa and their products. These don't look like they were just pushed out of the factory like how some other manufacturers that rhyme with "doorbell." Each piece looks like they were made by some dude who does like 40 earthenware pieces a day and is struggling to keep up with the demands of the industry but also trying maintain high standards. Okay so that's maybe not how Mikasa makes them but my point is that they look good.For cereal, I only use these bowls to eat out out of now. It's kind of perfect for that.Long story short: I would highly recommend these but then again, all of mine came in perfect condition. Please note that some of yours may come cracked depending on shipping so reach out to ensure that you get a replacement. They're microwave safe and cleans up easily with soap and water.

This set of Mikasa everyday dinnerware is beautifully styled and manufactured. The packaging was excellent, and not a single item of the 16 pieces was scratched or blemished. The sizing is excellent, and the pieces fit very well into our standard sized cabinets. Since our decor is grey with cobalt blue accents, the graphite dishes are a perfect fit for us. We like that the finish is a mix of matte and glazed. The matte mugs are especially nice, easy to hold and commodious. We really like the fun shape of the soup/cereal bowls, and the square plates are very attractive. Couldn’t be happier with the style and quality. This set is a hit and we will purchase serving ware to accompany the dish ware.

Really was looking forward to this set because of the style. However everything but the cups arrived broken in pieces. The packaging/box etc is definitely not sturdy or supportive enough.

This is a good looking set of dinnerware. It’s very sturdy, good for any occasion. They’re easy to wash, rinse and air dry quickly. The only setback is they’re kinda heavy, make sure your shelves are strong enough to hold the plates and bowls if stacked together. The setting for 4 makes a nice house warming or wedding gift.

Mikasa has been around for years and I have always loved their variety of styles of dinnerware. I am more into the modern look and the neutrals so this was perfect for me. The square design, texture and color made it a nice addition to my collection. I will say the bowl is not my favorite. I am not a fan of the dip on the sides but overall, it is a very beautiful set for those who just want to stick with solids. They also carry open stock pieces like for serving if you want to expand the collection which is also a plus!
