Broken ends
I like the item but the issue is the end caps fall off all of them allowing your cable to be pulled off easily. This is not user error it's a default. I am now attempting to jb weld the end caps to prevent this.

Great for My Surfboard Rack
When I take surf trips up and down the California coast with my two sons, we take a lot of surfboards with us including longboards and short boards. On one recent trip we had 3 longboards and 5 short boards. I have a Chevy Avalanche with racks mounted on the truck bed covers. In the past, we have had to fold down the rear seat and shove all the boards we aren't using inside the truck so they don't get stolen. When we overnight somewhere, we also have to take the boards off the rack and stuff them inside the truck/bed. With all the towels, wetsuits, backpacks, etc. in the truck bed, this can be a real puzzle and a pain. I kept looking for a way to lock my surfboards to the rack, but what I found were expensive specialty locks which require special fin bolts or locks that attach to your leash plug or new locking plugs which have to be fiber-glassed into the board. I kept thinking there must be an adjustable cable lock of some sort that I could use and eventually found the Python. It is perfect for my needs. I pull it around the surfboards and the rack, pull it as tight as I can and lock it. I can now leave the boards, particularly the longboards, on the rack when we go out in the water and overnight without worrying about the boards being stolen.NOTE: because my surf rack is mounted on the truck bed covers, the tails of the surfboards are right up against the rear window of the cab. As a result, they cannot be slid forward while they are locked on the rack. Because of the fins and the Python cable, the boards cannot be slid the opposite direction toward the tailgate either. However, if you had a regular roof rack, a thief could still potentially slide boards out from under the Python cable.

Versatile! Secured our battery & LP tanks on travel trailer!
We purchased two 6-foot locks and are using them to lock down the battery and propane tanks on our new travel trailer. Cinching, keyed-alike feature made them perfect for our purposes. I'm super pleased that they fit and that we only have one key to deal with for both, as we already have too many locks and keys! The 6 foot length cinched easily around our extra large battery box on the trailer tongue - why pay $50 - $120 for those elaborate battery locks with yet another set of keys or codes to remember??? The box has a natural indentation for the strap, and this serves as the perfect point to cinch the cable lock so that it secures snugly to the tongue and cannot be removed without the key.The propane tanks were a bit more challenging. If you want to secure the LP cover over the tanks, get at least the 12 foot cable lock, as the 6 foot was too short to position it properly so that it couldn't just be pulled off the flexible cover. The 6 foot was long enough, however, to secure the tanks to the tongue, then we slipped the cover on over. Theoretically someone could steal the cover, but we were happy to secure the tanks!Great buy! Highly recommend!

not off to a good start...optimistic, but guarded
Failed at first use, both of them ("Keyed Alike" set)Both silver ferrules ("stopper sleeves") were not crimped and the cables pulled through and opened = item no longer secured/locked.Should have been caught in final QA, but made in Ch!n@ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯However, Amazon was very quick to send another to replace it and it is properly crimped.Happy to provide an edit or update after a few months of use.Lesson: if the silver end is not crimped (Send it back immediately), a few sturdy tugs on the cable will "unlock" without any tools needed.

Best on the market
This is an awesome addition if you’re looking to secure your valuables, such as a golf cart, ATV, motorcycle, or even outdoor valuables. It’s very well-made and durable. Best on the market in it’s class, will definitely buy a few more. A little costly, but worth it in the end.

Works great for locking my Kayak to my trailer!!
I bought these to secure my kayaks to my trailer as a deterrent to thieves. While I know nothing is 100% effective these are very thick cables and very sturdy. They weather well so far in the Florida rains and heat.I have 3 of these locks so far and the really nice thing is if you buy them in a pack they come keyed the same. That's really nice so you don't have to have keys for each lock, just one for all of them.As you can see by the photo, I run the cable through the scupper hole and around part of the trailer. I make sure it does not place any pressure on the scupper hole.If you find this review helpful, please click on the helpful button. It helps others see this review. Thanks!!

This prevented bike theft
I (foolishly) thought my bike was safe enough in our building (unlocked) vestibule that I didn't fasten with my U-lock, just this cable.I found a previous version of this cable partially cut through by opportunistic bike thieves that have been hitting my block. I guess it was thick enough that their cutters couldn't get through it. I replaced it the next day with the exact same cable and started double locking with my ancient Kryptonite New York U-lock. No second attempt was made.Might not work with a pro bike thief, but cops think it may be someone who lives in my area hitting buildings up and down my block. This is a good cable to pair with a U-lock - my U-lock is narrow and sometimes all I can do is lock the frame to an object, I thread this through both tires, my helmet, and sometimes the crate I mount on back to carry my dog.
