Delicious.
I cannot believe that this is so low in calories as it tastes rich and indulgent, it's just like the cream orange chocolate you get from a well know brand of boxed chocolates. You do have to know that the 13 calories are just for an average 5g tsp as it is 269 for 100g of product. The thing is you do not need much to have a flavour impact on your desserts. The most you would need to drizzle over your yoghurt or ice cream is a level tablespoon so for me a serving is more like 26-39 cals which is still so much less that any other "sugar-free" product.I know for myself that often when I'm craving a sweet treat I squeeze some of my favourite Sweet Freedom onto a spoon and I just enjoy it and again because it's so flavoursome you do not need much at all.I 100% recommend all of the products, the Gingerbread tastes just like gingerbread cake. There is a mint one, plain chocolate, coconut etc and I've spotted a coffee one which isn't on Amazon as yet but as soon as it is I will be buying that. The golden syrup one tastes exactly like golden syrup it's as though they have just decanted the real thing into their own bottles.

A healthier hot chocolate choice?
I do like this, it has a strong minty taste and makes a nice hot chocolate, but if you’re looking for something with a rich chocolate taste you may be disappointed. This may be because most of the flavour/sweetness comes from Carob rather then cocoa.I have tried both the chocolate and mint chocolate versions and find that the chocolate one has a slight artificial aftertaste that the mint one lacks. Maybe the mint covers it?The product description states it’s “Half the calories of leading brands of solid chocolate and 85% less fat… hugely popular chocolate substitute for dieters”. I read that along with ‘13 calories per teaspoon’ and ‘no refined sugar’ and thought it would be the ideal substitute for Cadbury’s hot chocolate in my reduced sugar diet. Since buying a bottle I have done the maths and Yes, a mug of Sweet Freedom hot chocolate has better Nutritional values then Cadbury’s but it’s not by drastic amounts. (To be fair to both brands, most of the sugar and fat content comes from the milk you use).I worked out the nutritional values of a cup of hot chocolate made with 200ml of Tesco milk and thought I’d share:-20g of Cadbury’s (C) or Sweet Freedom (SF) & 200ml of semi-skimmed milk:Energy Kcal: (C) 180.4 / (SF) 152.8Fat: (C) 4.72g / (SF) 4.34gFat of which saturates: (C) 3.02g / (SF) 2.54Carbohydrates: (C) 24.8g / (SF) 19.8gCarbs of which sugars: (C) 24.2g / (SF) 18.4g20g of Cadbury’s (C) or Sweet Freedom (SF) & 200ml of skimmed milk:Energy Kcal: (C) 151.4 / (SF) 123.8Fat: (C) 1.32g / (SF) 0.94gFat of which saturates: (C) 1.02g / (SF) 0.54gCarbohydrates: (C) 25.2g / (SF) 20.2gCarbs of which sugars: (C) 24.6g / (SF) 18.8gIf you drink a lot of hot chocolate it maybe worth the swap to Sweet Freedom. If you only indulge in the occasional cup then you could probably treat yourself to something with a richer chocolate taste.

Perfect for making Mint Mochas & Peppermint Hot Chocolates.
Makes lovely mint mochas & peppermint hot chocolates when added to cocoa or lattes. Provides minty sweetness without using sugar or sweeteners as natural fruit sugar is used only making it healthier. After trying many coffee syrups (including Monin), and most having chemical bath ingredients, Mint Sweet Freedom has a great taste, healthy ingredients and not chemical or sickly sweet. Try out the Orange Spice for Orange Hot Chocolate, and Gingerbread for Gingerbread Lattes too. I am obsessed with proper coffee and fussy about how it's made, and I have to say, these are the best syrups I've tried in my coffees and cocoas, plus healthy for kids . Thumbs up for our family!

Hint of mint
I really like the sauces made by this company. I discovered the plain chocolate one when I was on a low carb regime and someone recommended it. I added just a tsp to cream or yogurt. This mint one isn't overly minty I have to say but it it does have a subtle hint of mint. This brand is quite expensive at £3.49-£3.99 a pop but I use it very sparingly. I would rather spend a bit more for a quality product rather than less on a overly sweet sickly chocolate sauce filled with goodness knows how much sugar and other gunk. I probably won't buy this mint one again though due to lack of strength of flavour. Our taste buds are as unique as we are so someone else may find it minty enough.

Slimming World friendly chocolate...
I'be been on slimming world for around 2 years on and off and was delighted when I heard about Choc Shots. I was still sceptical because we all know the substituted 'treat' food doesn't always make a nice replacement for actual chocolate/crisps etc. Choc shots in my opinion are the exception to this. Even if I wasn't doing slimming world I think I'd still buy these.I've used it for various things, dipping chocolate for plain biscuits, as a chocolate sauce over meringues and fruit to make a gorgeous desert and obviously to make the hot chocolate. The Choc shot instructions say 3-4 tsps per 200 ml milk which does make a nice hot chocolate. It's quite a dark chocolate but I would definitely say it's worth a buy. I have the original, the coconut and the orange and my favourite is the orange.

Good for low calorie sweet treat
Got the Orange choc shot and it was lovely, not too thick but not too thin. I use it on pancakes and fruit and yogurt or ice cream and it gives a lovely sweet treat for low calories. It is a bit pricey but does last if only using small amounts. Was delivered quickly and will definitely be ordering again.

Makes good vegan milkshakes
I've bought this to make vegan milkshakes. It's really easy to squirt into a jar with some plant-based milk (I've mostly used oat or coconut), put the lid on, and shake up. Best if both the milk and Choc Shot have been chilled in the fridge first. The flavour is pretty good, though I do find I need a bit more than it says to make my drink properly chocolatey. It's nice that it doesn't leave a powdery residue. I haven't tried using it to make hot chocolate yet. My main issue with it is that it comes in plastic and you only get a few drinks from each bottle. I think I'll explore other options once I've worked through my current pack of six bottles.
