Easy to Use and Gets the Job Done
There are three things to especially like about this meat thermometer. First is its retractable probe. It's kind of like a pocket knife in this regard. It is super easy to just fold in the probe and place the unit in a pocket without worrying about being stuck by it. Second is its backlit screen. I don't know about you but I often cook in low light conditions so this is important. Finally is that the unit has a magnet, meaning I have the option to stick it on something metal and always know where it is that way. I am a caterer and own two of these.

Works Well For A Veggie Gal To learn To Cook A Good Steak!
I received the Goodful Digital Instant Read Handheld Thermometer for Food, Backlit Screen, Accurate Read, Folding Probe and Magnet Back for Easy Storage, Fahrenheit or Celsius, One AAA Battery Included, Red.I ordered this Food/Meat Thermometer for cooking steaks.I have always ben a Vegetarian, and so I never learned how to cook beef or any other flesh. My husband has started insisting on having some sort of beef steak at least once a week now.He likes it cooked in an iron skillet, so that's what I'm doing.Although I'm kinda freaked out about having to touch bloody flesh meat, I am giving it my best attempt to try to learn how to cook him steak the way he likes it, because I want to make him happy!Once I got past the gross meat issues, I can say that this Food/Meat Thermometer has helped me greatly! It seems to be accurate, and it is very easy to use.I got a chart for different cuts of beef steaks and what temps they need to reach for a medium-well finish. After the 3'd try, I got Sirloin down about perfectly for my husband.Of course, I'm still a Vegetarian, but now I can at least cook up a good steak!

Simple, easy to use, a hit in the kitchen and on the grill
So awhile back I wanted to go from the old dial thermometers that can be unrealizable / finicky after to something that is instantaneous and reliable. Now I've always been a huge Weber fan, and I have 3, yes, 3 of their grills (compact propane, compact charcoal for quick times and for camping, and a large charcoal beast for family cookouts), with accessories and its a brand I have come to know and trust. so I bought their thermometer for 24 dollars and it broke in a little over a month from only sporadic use. No I didn't abuse or use it as a lawn dart or sit on it either (ouch!). So one day I was watching American's test kitchen with my wife and they did a review of these fold out thermometers and the ones they tested ranged from 50 to like 150.00 dollars which I think is pricey for a thermometer. So I went with this and it works and works well. It reads quickly and that means a lot when slow cooking or low and slow grilling and you don't want to lose all the heat opening the grill lid over and over. The yellow backlight also kicks on instantaneously but can be shut off with a press of the button. Oh by the way the main button on top is what makes the thermometer prong come out kind of like a switch blade, which reminds me of the early years I spent in New York in the 80s. It shuts off when long pressed on the button, and is easy to clean with soap and water. It is not submersible so don't stick the whole thing into the sink. I wish it was submersible and the battery compartment was waterproof, but at this price, can't ask for everything. It did come with a battery, has been durable so far, and the plastic does not feel flimsy or cheap. I can't speak on the longevity, but I figure at this price it is reasonable to replace. Hope that helps to all the grill dudes / dudettes, Swifties, Monsters, and everyone else out there!

Top Notch Instant Read with all the features
My previous instant read thermometer died so I had to find a new one. I believe its vital to take internal temperatures when cooking meats, and even baked goods. The last loaf of home made bread I made recently advised that the loaf would be done when the internal temperature reached a certain amount. This is long way from the old way of inserting a toothpick or knife. Right? So, I ordered this GOODFUL Thermometer. It is a very nice improvement from my previously loved thermometer. Here's the improvements that exceed that had been the standard for internal instant read thermometers a few years ago. -- The back of the case has two strong magnets set flush inside the back of the case. It holds strongly to any metal surface, like the side of your appliances. -- This thermometer releases the internal probe in a jack knife fashion by pressing a button. A second button turns on the backlit temperature reading. I LOVE that the LED reading doesn't time out. My previous one would time out and make me put the probe back into place to "clear' the prior recorded temperature and take a new current temperature. This new one is superior in this way allowing me to start the power and manually turn it off by holding the button down for 2 seconds. Easier to use and lets you be in charge.--The backlit screen projects the temperature in black digital figures that are large and easy to read.I love this internal thermometer for every feature it has!HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Accurate
My 10 year old traditional kitchen thermometer finally started going out and I needed a replacement. I thought maybe it was time to "upgrade" myself into the 21st century by going digital. So glad I did. This one is incredibly fast, accurate, and easy to clean. It's also very easy to read. I'm hoping it will last a long time.***EDIT for Update January 2023*** This thermometer lasted great! I never had any issues at all and only had to change the battery once. Unfortunately, it met an early end when I made the mistake of trying to rinse something off (instead of wiping it off as I always had done) and accidentally slid off the back exposing the battery compartment to water. It was 100% my fault. I knew better but was in a rush. I replaced it with one from the store but honestly could not stand it. There was no back light, took forever to read a temp, and it was flimsy. I just bought a new one of these because I missed it so much.
