Way too sweet
It would have been better without the stevia - it’s way too sweet.

Good quality, but gimmicky
The ingredients in this prebiotics supplement powder are fine, but it’s way overpriced for what it is, which is primarily a fiber supplement. The majority of the powder, 8.8g out of 11, are Jerusalem artichoke extract and oat fiber. Jerusalem artichoke extract provides inulin, a type of soluble fiber. Oat fiber is primarily insoluble. Oat fiber is typically the hull of the oat and would not contain beta glucan, which is found in the endosperm of the oat. So I’m not sure where the beta glucan is coming from in this product, and they don’t specify how much you’re getting, which would have been helpful. I suspect it’s not much. And then you have a gram of blueberry and pomegranate extract with a bit of stevia thrown in for sweetening and citric acid to tart things up a bit (and also act as a natural preservative). There are also unspecified “natural flavors,” which could be almost anything. The powder dissolves (more or less) with vigorous mixing, but I did end up with a lot of debris at the bottom of the glass (which was tasty). I found the drink to be very weakly flavored anywhere in the recommended concentrations of 4-6 ounces of liquid (water, in my case). But it was drinkable. The flavor isn’t strong, but it’s pleasant. Fruity. More like grape than blueberry or pomegranate.Prebiotics are basically food for your gut bacteria. As a soluble fiber, inulin works very well as a prebiotic. Insoluble fiber doesn’t really feed your gut bacteria, but it does provide beneficial bulking. Oat fiber, being mostly insoluble, does not feed gut bacteria much, but beta glucan does, very well. The labeling on this powder mix doesn’t specify how much of its fiber content is soluble vs. insoluble, so it’s difficult to say exactly what you’re getting here.Note that this product does NOT contain *probiotics*, which are beneficial gut bacteria you can take as a supplement to augment whatever you already have in you.Taking this product will probably contribute to good gut health, and if you take a probiotic around the same time, you’ll be providing something for it to munch on. If you have money to burn and just want something quick and convenient as a prebiotic, this might be what you’re looking for.But if you’d like to save some money, you can get the ingredients of this supplement separately for a lot less per serving, and as an added bonus, you’ll know exactly what you’re getting.A teaspoon each of oat fiber and inulin will provide you with the same amount of fiber as this mix (six grams). Beta glucan can also be purchased, typically as a capsule, but also available as a powder. Whatever serving size you take, it’s almost certainly much more than you’re getting from this mixed supplement. Buying all three of those might cost more than this, but your cost per serving would be way less, and you’d know exactly what you’re getting. In short, though a bit gimmicky, the quality of this product is fine, and it’s almost certainly beneficial, but I wish they spelled out a little more explicitly what you’re getting.

Fantastic formulation not found in others.
I am extremely pleased with this formulation. It has a lot of ingredients that you can't find in other powders. It mixes well and never clumped in my drinks. I would recommend it. I feel great using it.

Good flavor
Products like this you kind of have to take on faith that they are going to work and help you stay healthy. I remember either an article or NPR story about various vitamins and supplements and the companies that make them, and how very few of them actually contain what they claim to contain and how if they are made up of the real ingredients, the levels are far from what is stated on the label and often are dangerously high. Of the handful of companies whose products DID contain the ingredients and levels that were stated on the labels, Nature's Bounty was one of them.Tastewise, this isn't horrible. Reminds me of the V8 Pomegranate Blueberry Juice. Good when mixed in with a vanilla protein powder, fresh or frozen fruit, and some milk for a very filling smoothie. Not as good when mixed with chocolate protein powder, though okay with banana flavor. You can mix this with plain water and drink it that way, or mix with seltzer water for a fizzy version. It's also not bad when mixed with some hot green or white tea (black is too strong), or with lemonade. Works well if you want to make some ice cubes from it to add to future servings without watering the mixture down. Dissolves well in cold or hot water. My one concern is the price of this, especially considering the small size of the container. It's approximately $1.16 a serving, but you do get both the inulin and polyphenols in one product rather than buying separately. If you look at it this way, the price is easier to deal with.

A good tasting everyday prebiotic powder. A little pricey for what you get though.
This powder is great for those of us who don't get enough fiber and it also provides some gut healthy ingredients. I am going through a dietary change to help my gut health and this powder seemed to fit right in with the changes I am making. My doctor said it was OK but I still need a probiotic with it and it doesn't offer as much of anything as he would like to see in a powder of this type. He suggested a few others that are around the same price but have more potent ingredients. Still, the taste is good, like a mild grape flavor, and it blends pretty well. I use a frother and there are no clumps. It doesn't affect my touchy gut and I do feel I am doing something good for my body. I will finish what I have then probably buy a different brand as suggested by my doctor. If you are looking for some fiber and fruit benefits and have no major gut issues, this powder will be fine for you. It's a little on the pricey side but it's pleasant tasting and healthy. It does contain Stevia which my doctor says I need to cut out of my diet. No more sugar substitutes for me. But the small amount in this powder, in my opinion, does not bother my stomach or hurt my health. It's a good everyday supplement for better gut health for most people.
