Q: Does it matter that much if my walls are not smooth?

No the sticker stick very well it's very sturdy and once sticked on you cant replace them else where because they stick real good

Q: Can they go on the shower wall?

That would probably be a question for the seller?! I put mine on bedroom wall, so not sure about a shower wall.

Q: Do these remove the paint from the wall if you remove the decals?

No they won't. Make sure wall is really clean though because the adhesive is not so strong to pull of paint.
