The Roommate Situation: A Romantic Comedy (Only in Atlanta, Book 1)

Monotonous
If you like to read books that take several hours to read and pretty much have two people saying how hot the other one is and how much they’re attracted to each other then this book is for you. There really is nothing interesting going on here.

Fun new author
Fun new author in the closed door romantic comedy genre! If you like Sarah Adams, this will be another author to add to your list. Humorous writing, lots of chemistry between characters, good storyline, and keeps things clean.Jess has insecurities that were relatable and realistic but she's also true to herself. Conor (with one "n"...) is your typical hot ladies man but I'm ready to start settling down hero. Together they were adorable. The story was fast paced and kept me interested throughout.Aiden and Courtney's story should be a lot of fun. Looking forward to learning more about the quirky Courtney. While this is a closed door romance, there was kissing, mild language, and lots of physical attraction.

Adorable Romcom
Ok, the only reason I’m giving this four instead of five stars was a grammatical error that was overused. I did appreciate that the author used “name and I” often, but it actually should have been “name and me” several times. Sorry, I was raised by an English teacher, so it bugged me a little.Honestly, the story and characters were amazing. It was very realistic, not over angsty or dramatic, but still thoroughly enjoyable. I felt like all the characters were realistic and 3D. Overall one if the most enjoyable books I’ve read recently.

A little to insta…
This book was just okay for me. Not bad but not quite enough depth of character or reliability relationship development. My main issue was there was too much insta-attraction/love of my life going on. Okay yes you can be attracted to someone immediately. But for Conor he was supposedly this one in a million hunk and a serial dater who never gets serious. Then he sees Jess for the first time, ( i can’t really get a good handle on how objectively pretty she is) and he’s all of a sudden a different man who’s ready to settle down. It just caused a little too much whip lash for me. It would’ve been better to take him through a process IMO.Same kind of situation with the best friend—she goes from hostile, suspicious and territorial in one minute to best friend in the next. And to be honest the H, Conor was just a little too perfect. He did and said everything right and was all things good.

Loved it!
This book was great! I borrowed it as soon as it was available in KU, but saved it for the flights this past weekend because I knew I would need a good book to keep me awake (I knew I would be holding my almost 2 year old while she slept and I didn’t want to drop her if I fell asleep). I loved it! It made me laugh and swoon, and it kept my attention and kept me from sleeping even though I was tired! (I’m the kind of person who will fall asleep if I’m really tired, even if I’m at the climactic part of a book, so this is an impressive feat for a book!)I loved the rom com voice, the dual POV, the humor, the romance, all of it! Conor and Jess were so funny, and I highlighted a lot of sections to reread later. I can’t wait for the next book in the series, especially after meeting the main characters of that one in this book. It’s going to be great! Books by Katie Bailey are going on my read-as-soon-as-the-book-is-released list for sure!5/5 stars!

Clean, funny, charming romance
This book was hilarious, swoony, and had realistic characters and relationships. I loved the flaws and quirks of the characters. And this book is clean: it has a handful of mild swear words and no sex scenes (and no almost sex scenes). Another review said this is a PG 13 book - I would definitely say if this was a movie it would be PG. You don't need to hide your kindle from your kids with this.

This is such a fun entertaining read
This book kept me laughing non stop from beginning til the end. It is such a cute, sweet, giddy, flirty, cheeky read. I love Jess she's such a quirky funny and chill character. The Meet Cute way they met was so adorable and definitely hilarious. The moment the sparks began…..SWOON!! The banters and the lines/conversations are so hilarious. Jess says and does the darnest things. Her quirkiness amused Hottie Conor. This book should definitely be made to a Movie ...I would definitely watch it! Conor is the sweetest roommate so considerate and caring. And such a flirt! There are non stop fun moments between the characters. I loved the slightly odd feisty but sweet neighbor. She made things so entertaining. The ending will melt you it's so romantic and sweet! Overall the story is amazing and will keep highly entertained. You just don't know when or if the love birds will ever get into a real relationship. One favorite line Touche, flirtypants

Amazing!
There are some books that you get mildly lost in and others you totally get lost in and can't stop reading, The Roommate Situation most certainly fits into the totally get lost in and can't stop reading. It's a definitely recommend read because I didn't want to put it down and loved turning the page to find what was next in the bumpy journey to their HEA!Even though I did receive an advanced review copy of this book, I also purchased the book/read with Kindle Unlimited and am voluntarily leaving my own unsolicited opinion with my voluntary review.

3 stars
She’s leaving her cheating joying and fled NY. The plan is to crash with her brother while she gets out of this mess that is her life. When she gets to his house, basically unannounced she soon discovers he has a roommate, a very good looking roommate. I enjoyed the story of the roomies and how their love blossomed. It’s nice to read a romance not just about sex scenes. Early on I found the story jumped around a bit, but overall I enjoyed it.

A great ‘sit in the sun and read’ book!
The Roommate Situation was the perfect sunny Saturday in a hammock read! Jess is SO relatable! She is described as a girl who cannot find a cute bra in her size and has lost days of her life scrolling Tik-Tok. Conor is an insightful man who is beginning to figure out what he really wants in life. He’s respectful and a true gentleman. From pop references to apologies with pasta I was laughing throughout the whole story. This book has so much more depth than I was expecting from a ‘suddenly living with a cute roommate’ novel.I love romance but like to keep it PG. The Roommate Situation was closed door and tastily romantic at the same time.Katie Bailey is an author I’m looking forward to following for year to come! Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.

It's a debut.
The premise is good. The characters, although under developed, were likeable enough. The story felt very rushed. The voices, particularly Jess', seemed much younger and more niave than you'd expect for their ages and life experiences. However, it's impressive how well Katie Bailey has done for herself. Given its her debut novel, I can see that there is great potential for her writing to develop from great premises into more believable characters and voices.

Must read rom com!
This book was great! I couldn’t put it down. Loved the tension between the characters. I really enjoy books that do both sides of the main characters thoughts! Can’t wait for the sequel. The only reason I did not give this a 5/5 was because of spelling errors. In one chapters Courtney is spelt wrong 3x on the same page.

Very light hearted
Found this on BookTok. Super sweet. Super cute. Super funny. Especially the group date. Full of modern references but has a very traditional slapstick feel. Very enjoyable.
