Love this book
This is another great book in this amazing series. It’s my 4th time reading it and it’s just as great as the first time. Livy and Vic are such a great couple. She’s a super direct bada$s who doesn’t put up with anything. She’s a honey badger shifter who although is small, is very good at fighting people 3x larger. Vic is a very calm bear/tiger hybrid shifter. They make such a Ute couple. I like it that he totally gets her. They have some funny banter and several tender moments. Lots of happy feels. No angst or drama. Great sub characters, new and from previous books in this series. The plot is very cool with the culmination of the full human bad guy who was capturing shifters to hunt them. Lots of action and exciting moments when everyone worked together to fix the issues.I can see me reading this and the series again many more times I. The future. I highly recommend this book and the series.

Always a great reread!
Rereading the series (on to badger next!) which is always a good time. I think Shen is adorable so I liked seeing him in this book and am excited for his story (which is maybe next?)

Loved this series
I loved this whole series. Must read, she writes like what truly feel, and what we crazy women would actually say and do even if we weren't shifters. Thank you!

So, so good!
We met Livy and Vic in Wolf with Benefits, and the fun continues here in Bite Me. Livy's father has passed. Vic offers Livy a job sneaking into the apartment of the daughter of a suspect in the shifter murders. Livy finds a lot more than she bargained for. Vic, Dez, Dee-Ann(fangurl squee!) and Crush try to figure out why their respective agencies have pulled them off the hunt for the killer, Kyle, Coop and Chloe show up, and Gwen and Blayne are getting married! Not to each other...!We get a lot of time with Livy's crazy a$$ family. Liv and her cousin Melly, who is "not shifter crazy, I'm talking (very bad word starting with a formal version of Mom) crazy!" Livy wants them all to go away, but in the meantime, she ends up at Vic's house. Vic can't figure out why Liv keeps ending up in his cabinets, naked, eating his honey,(and no, that is not a euphemism) and leaving holes all over his foundation from her burrowing in. Strangely, though, he isn't as upset by this as you may think.Livy feels like she has lost her creative drive. Liv reminds me of a cross between the dead eyed calm of Dee Ann crossed with the hanging-on-by-a-thread of Gwennie. Liv is quiet and keeps to herself...until she isn't and doesn't. Then it is completely on! Size of the opponent doesn't matter...Liv is a badger. Baddest of the bad, meanest of the mean. But really, Liv just wants people to leave her alone. She wants to connect with her honey, and figure out why she doesn't feel inspired to take photographs. But she doesn't seem to want Vic to leave her alone.Vic is like, I don't know, quiet, geeky awesomeness. He has some issues with self-consciousness due to his hybrid form, which Livy lays to rest. Vic is just a good guy, probably the most normal hero (if you overlook the bear-tiger hybrid thing) in the whole series so far. He's loyal and diligent, and he understands Livy better than anyone on the planet. The funny really never stops. I started laughing in the intro, where the author "explains" the front cover, and never really stopped. There is roller derby, and jousting, crazy stalker b*&ches, bad, bad bears, an Eggie sighting...Bo and Vic feel the need to try to kill each other every time they get together unless they are drinking. We get some Loch time, and Ricky Lee and Toni are around, we meet a panda shifter...Lots of fun had by all. Ms. Laurenston brings all of the past characters together in a way that makes perfect sense. They each have a vital role, and she handled it skillfully and seamlessly.****Small Spoiler - Dee Ann has a mini meltdown after Livy is hurt. Dee Ann was so rattled by the events that led to Livy's injury. She is determined to make amends, and set things to right. Poor Ric didn't know what to do with a less than even keeled Dee Ann! End Spoiler****Toni snaps several times, which is always fun. I do not understand why she hates Blayne so much, but it's funny! There is a plot here, but I don't want to spoil anyone. The plot, the humor and the love story were all woven together so perfectly. I don't know how she does it, but Ms. Laurenston consistently writes to a very high bar setting. If you haven't started this series, oh, I envy you...but run to your computer and start at the beginning. So worth it. If you are already invested in the series, you will love this.Bottom line - Time and money spent in the best possible way. Loved Vic and Livy's story!

Fun and sexy. Proving once again that laughter is the best aphrodisiac
Originally Reviewed For: Bodice Rippers, Femme Fatales and FantasyIn Book 10 of Shelly Laurenston's Pride Series, it's time to say goodbye.. Yeah, I too am totally bummed but Ms Lauresnston has said that it's time.. so it's time. I know we will see more amazing books from her but these books hold a special place in my heart. In Bite Me, Ms Laurenston ties up a few loose ends and manages to bring back a lot of favorite characters if just for a moment. And along with all the usual insanity, the "jocularity" Ms Laurenston wraps up a story arc that has been going on since well before Blayne..Livy Kowalski is unusual for a honey badger, she doesn't steal from artists.. she IS an artist much to her family's dismay. Odd as she is, she is the only normal one in the entire bunch. Well normal as far as shifters are concerned. And normal if you consider breaking into someone's house and staying there preferable to staying in your own apartment. But Livy has lost some of her wandering ways and has an actual job as team photographers for Ric Ulrich's shifters. Pretty cool.. Of course she still has to deal with her insane family and watching the theatrics over the casket at her father's family was entertaining to say the least. But when she finds his stuffed body in a full human's study just a few days later, Livy is truly ticked and calls in her family.Vic Barinov, half grizzly and half siberian tiger, usually lets his laid back grizzly side rule. But for some reason Livy calls to both sides of him. In typical bear fashion, Vic logics out their friendship. Of course when he's not looking for Livy hiding under his bed or in his cupboards, Vic is into private security and he is on a lead that will finally track down Whitlan, the full human who has been setting up shifters to be hunted and stuffed. When he finds out Livy's father was one of these trophies. Vic does all he can to keep her calm.Ok, I admit it.. I laughed.. and laughed and laughed. Of course I didn't start really laughing until Bo showed up. What can I say he remains a favorite character. Here's a peak at Bo and Vic's relationship"He weighs a ton, Livy" Jake complained"Put your back into it. We're almost there.""Move," Novikov said, pushing Livy and Jake out of the way,"Hello, my hybrid brother!" Vic crowed"Christ, Novikov," Jake demanded,"How much vodka did you give him?""I don't know. A bottle or two" He picked Vic up in a fireman carry and Livy rushed up the stairs to unlock the door, Novikov carried him to their room, dropping Vic onto the bed.&"Can you make it back to the wild dog house?" Livy asked."Of course," Bo snapped, "I'm not weak like him. I'm strong. Cossack strong." Then Novikov walked into a wall, stumbled back and passed out on the floor by the bed"Believe me this was not the only wonderful vignette in this book. There was the love story, which was shifter weird, there was they family dynamics.. both Livy's and Vics, There was the community dynamics and of course the unique ways shifters entertain themselves in general.Because of the way this series was written it's not too much that we see so many characters from past books stopping by. Honestly the only lead characters from other books that we didn't see were Mace and Sissy Mae.. and yet it wasn't overcrowded and hokey. For fans of this series.. there was Karaoke, Roller Derby and some jousting just for the heck of itA great way to end this fabulous series.. I would be totally peeved but I know the wonderfully wicked mind of Shelly Laurenston has plenty of new characters for us to fall in love with.ShauniThis review is based on the ARC of Bite Me, provided by netgalley

The Crazy World of Shifters just got Crazier!
I cannot recommend Shelly Laurenston highly enough. She is such an inventive writer and story teller. Her imagination takes no prisoners- and neither does this wonderful tale of the Crazy Honey Badgers. So why only 4 *, well it's 4 and a half, because it took me much more time to warm to the hero- Vic Barinov.Livy , our Honey Badger "badass" Heroine, is wonderful. She's crazy: you just know she is going to be in someone's face many times in the book, and it's done with superb comic timing. However I felt that Vic came off as the much less rounded character. I don't really see what it is about him that makes Livy fall for him. He is a sweet guy, and he does have a way of controlling Livy.Laurenston has filled this world of shifters with laughter, mayhem and smart repartee. I find myself thinking what one of her heroines would do in some of my more stressful moments. ( it would probably get me fired!)A good story is one you *want* to know what happens next, not just to main characters, but to all the characters. Laurenston shines by creating complex stories with fascinating side-charters to fill her books. We end up wanting to know their story too: take for example: Kyle Jean-Louis Parker, child genius and trouble maker. My personal favourite this time round was Livy's alcoholic ( and bi-polar- surely) cousin Melly. However we also get glimpses of many past hero & heroines including Ronnie Lee Reed 'baby', which made me laugh out loud AGAIN!.The book took some time for me to get 'into'. I can understand why Laurenston has said she wants to take a break from the Pride Series, they books must take a toll to write. Honestly though, even when not up to her normal superb level of story telling, this story is shows why she is MILES ahead of other story tellers in the Romance/ Fantasy/ Shifter world. If Shelly Laurenston wrote my tax document I would read it! Because she could even make that dreadful thing something to look forward too AND laugh at.

Honey Badgers and Hybrids
This book merges The Pride Series with The Honey Badger Series, as this book is all about the badger!Livy Kowalski is Toni’s, from Wolf With Benefits, best friend. She also happens to be a honey badger. Honey badgers are usually thieves and con artists, but because Livy became friends with Toni and got practically adopted into the family she took another route and became a photographer. The book starts at Livy’s father’s funeral. He wasn’t a pleasant man and Livy isn’t particularly broken up about it, but we are introduced to her very violent and angry family. When she is leaving the airport she meet Vic Barinov, a hybrid grizzly-Siberian tiger, we met in the Wolf With Benefits book, when he helped Toni out in Russia. Livy and Vic have become sort of friends as she keeps breaking into his house and sleeping in his cupboards whilst eating his honey (it’s a honey badger thing). This book delves into the hybrid hunters and the man behind it, so once more this is a plot heavy paranormal romance. The romance is sweet and passionate and the characters jump off the page they feel so real, but it doesn’t rely on that to be a good read. Throw in the belly laughs and you can't ask for a more entertaining read.Once more, I highly recommend this series and this author's work, it always cheers me up.

Hybrids and Honey Badgers rule!
With a bit of a so-so start, this book took off about a 1/3 of the way in, and never let down. Same as me, started reading it one night, and a little bit the next day, then picked it up for a bit that night, and before you know it, 3 am!Vic and Livy play a prominent role in the previous book, though not romantically. I guess that is where the slow start came from, I didn't get any sparks between them. It was a wonderful and interesting story, but where was the romance? Then, little bits, as these two friendly shifters, became better friends, and had different thoughts. We see this more from Vic, as his logical bear side rejects all sexual thoughts of LivyAll it takes is one very determined, post-jousting, honey badger, to bring Vic's cat to the surface, and then all bets are off. These two are explosive in the, well, it seems to be the kitchen a lot, and once they start, there is no turning backYou will laugh, so much, because the honey badgers and the hybrids are front and centre in this book. Even Jessie and Bobby's little girl, and Ronnie and Brendan's apparent devil child show up. They all have their quirks, and they all let them loose. You will get mad in this book, mad at the bad guys, because the bad guys do unspeakable things. You will cheer in this book, when it comes time to take out the bad guy they have been looking for for a few books, and Dee gives her plan, #gowolfgo.Bite me has everything that makes this series fabulous, and has a friends to lovers story that only this world could put together, in the best possible way!

Purrrrrrrfect
OK, maybe the header is stretching a point slightly but Vic is half feline - and perfect just about sums up my feelings about this latest instalment to the Pride series. Laureston's last Pride novel, Wolf with Benefits, wasn't quite as gripping or entertaining as all the others but Bite Me makes up for it in spades. And then some.I knew it was going to be good when even the Dear Reader introduction made me laugh and honestly can't remember ever laughing so much while reading such a page turner. The plot line finishes the Frankie Whitlan story arc in a most satisfactory manner, Vic and Livy's love story is believable if sometimes wacky, we meet most of the characters from previous novels and get to catch up on their lives …. even the cameo appearances are woven seamlessly into the story. I'm not sure how well Bite Me would work as a standalone, because it's sooo satisfying to read about characters you already know and love, as well as reaching the conclusion of an often gripping story arc that's been spread through several books. However, I'm sure that anyone who reads this with no previous experience of Laurenston's work won't waste any time in buying the rest of the series.I love everything this writer (and her alter ego G A Aiken) produces and always pre-order as soon as anything new goes up on Amazon. This was pre-ordered last October and was worth every minute of the wait. May the next one come quickly, be it Pride, or Dragons, or even a return to The Gathering!
