Cut through 1 inch metal conduit with ease. It produces a clean cut, but it does taper the cut end a bit. After deburring, the taper is gone. Using a hacksaw will not cause a taper, its most likely caused by the way this is designed to cut. Either way, it works great with no issues.

I've only used the larger cutter on steel tubing and PVC pipe. It worked great on both. The larger size with 3 rollers to support the pipe makes square cuts real easy.I can't comment on durability as I have only used it two or three times but I would bet that it should be very durable as it has a nice, large, rigid frame. The large size adjusting knob makes it very easy to keep cutting deeper. So easy in fact that you don't feel any pressure or need any force to cut deeper.I recommend this cutter based on personal experience and use.

This pipe cutter was helpful right away. I needed to shorten the width of the handlebars on my mountain bike. This cutter provided a precise and clean cut of the sturdy tubing. You may need to sand the edge just a bit, because the cutting can leave a sharp edge in the center of the cut. Quick and accurate cut.

Got this to cut a bunch of 1/2" and 3/4" EMT rods for a project I'm doing. Previously I was using a small hack saw (about 5 min of vigorous hack sawing). That works for one cut, but not 5-10 cuts. I also tried an angle grinder and cut-off disc, which shot more sparks than I'm comfortable with and I didn't make it through anything.For this, the small one is almost useless with emt. I was able to cut a single 1/2" EMT pipe with the small one, but it took almost 8 minutes, constant tightening, struggling with turns.The larger tool however worked great for the repeated 1/2" EMT cuts I needed, even 3/4". Easily in under 1 min, I was able to twist cut the pipe. Maybe 4-5 turns+tightening and it was done quickly. No plugs or sawing needed.I'm not happy about spending almost $30 on this, it really should be about $15-- but it gets the job done and is better than the hack saw method for multiple uses.

When I purchased this pipe cutter, I needed one for work and did so based on price alone and I tried to find one that appeared rugged. This one was a great value and built good. I would recommend it.

don't buy this set for the small cutter because that one walks when you try to cut the pipe and is uselessI do like the large cutter which is very easy on the hands

I bought this to cut a curtain rod my wife bought that was way too long. I also used it to cut a shower curtain rod. I just used the small one, two came with the order. Wham! Bamb! Done!!! 🤗👍👍👍
