Good for the price
Not sure if I really should have given 4 stars, but for the price I think this a good deal. I used to buy SnugPax (no longer in business) Then went to Stowaway. They just are not holding up. Zippers break, they tear.... So I tried this reasonably priced pack. PROS: heavy fabric, zipper seems heavy duty, holds a LOT of stuff. doesn't bounce now that I have it secured well, back small pockets are handy. CONS: doesn't come with attachment straps. Wish the zipper was 2 way. I carry water bottles in a pommel pack so I didn't need that on this cantle pack. Some people seem to have trouble attaching. I used 3 straps (that will tighten down, like what you find in the camping section). One goes around the middle through the crupper ring. This really holds it well. Then the other 2 straps attach to the side rings and go around the cinch rings. I don't use the holes they have on the bottom. Not sure what their purpose is. I put in a lead rope, rain pants, emergency kit, feed bag, sierra saw, riding fly mask, treats, knife, hoof pick... like I said, it holds quite a lot. I am happy with it. Hope it lasts.

Made well, but awkward.
The bag itself looks great and appears to be made in a durable way. I love the way it looks. However, I wish I had payed better attention to the reviews and comments regarding its fit on a saddle. The bag has grommets, rings, and a handle loop, but not in a convenient way to actually attach it to your saddle. I was able to make it work after a few attempts, so I will keep it. I have it mostly zip tied at the moment until I get more leather ties. I haven't used it out on the trail yet, but it seems like it would hold water bottles and a small lunch or a jacket.

I was pleasantly surprised!
Overall I'm really happy with this cantle bag . I like the two small outside pockets which I useful carry a weatherman tool and other small items. The main pocket accommodates a rain jacket and an extra water bottle or two. It looks great on my saddle. The only criticism i would make is that it is difficult to attach to the saddle in a way to keep it from bouncing, but that is highly dependent upon the saddle itself and where or if there are adequate D rings. I was able to make it work on both of my saddles using some Velcro strips, one saddle is better than than the other.

Awesome! Great trail bags!
I love these! The material is rugged, the zippers are heavy duty and built to last. I was surprised at how much gear I can fit into the pockets. They fit all the long distance riding necessities and it's easy to organize everything with all the pockets.I use them on my Sensation treeless saddle and they are perfect. No bounce whatsoever and my sensitive horses didn't even notice them even when fully loaded with gear. I'll be recommending these trail bags to my riding buddies as they fit the needs so perfectly.I ordered these last minute and was very pleased at how quickly the package arrived in the mail. I couldn't even find these in any local tack stores, so I was happy to find them directly from Weaver Leather, LLC here on Amazon.

Ripped handle off first time using it.
The handle on the top middle ripped off as soon as I lifted up the bag when I had it packed. I only had two bottles of water and a sandwich in it, so nothing to heavy. You can fit a soda can in each of the front pockets if you wanted and the front little zipper a chap stick or cash. As a whole its nice material and keeps things cool. Just wish it didn't rip within the first 5 min.

Zippers are trash
Bought the entire set front horn bags. Rear saddle bags and cantle bag. Bought these for trip to Wyoming. Very first day . First use. One zip and cantle bag zipper totally frayed. Very very disappointed with zipper quality on these bags. The bags are good but zippers are trash. Really need upgraded. Not fun to lose knife. Flashlight. Bear spray. Phone . because zippers break.

Poor design, I tried several different ways to attach the bag on the skirt,of my saddle and couldn't find a stable way to attach it without it wobbling around a poor design in,my opinion I do like the small zipper pouches idea which is the reason why I ordered it. I always liked Weaver products but not this time, too,bad they couldn't figure out a better way for the grommets so it can be fastened tighter. Funny how there's no photos of the back side of the bag where the grommets are it's stupid.

This is a great bag for the back of the saddle
This is a great bag for the back of the saddle. I do some pretty rough riding on the ranch and this held up for the summer. Though the stitching was poor and one of the font pockets came undone within the first week. This bag wont last forever without some touch up stitching.

A good quality bag but the tie down places don't make ...
A good quality bag but the tie down places don't make sense if you have a western saddle and only have a pair of leather latigos on each side of the back of your saddle. It is simply too wide and it tips down which means that the two zippered pouches rest face down on your saddle blanket behind the saddle. The handle at the top doesn't make sense unless you want to put this bag around your saddle horn. Nice bag but poorly designed.

Misleading
Bag seems to be in good condition. Just not very thrilled that I specifically ordered this bag because it was leather. While I received a brown canvas bag instead. Very disappointed in that but the canvas seems to be nice. Just feeling ripped off.
