I really like how it overall has an optimistic tone
Fullmetal Alchemist was the first manga I ever read, and all these years later, it's still one of my favorites. I really like how it overall has an optimistic tone, without downplaying the trials and pain that the characters endure.

Loved It!
This is a tale of suffering and redemption. A beautiful story of two brothers who refuse to give up in spite of everything life has put them through. It is a wonderful story. A tear jerker. A heart warmer. An inspiration. I loved it. The manga is a bit different than the anime. To get the whole picture i recommend getting the blu-ray anime sets along with the manga. Get FMA and FMA Brotherhood as soon as you can. You wont be sorry.

Sacrifices.
Down below Central, Edward, Izumi, and Hohenheim have all been taken by Father in order to soon fulfill their duties as sacrifices. Alphonse has been taken as well, but although his body is in the right place, his soul isn't there yet as he dwells over a difficult decision - will he sacrifice what he's been searching for? Meanwhile, Roy is marked as an important candidate and as the eclipse approaches, time is running out. Forced by the homunculi, Roy is forced to open the portal, but the question is, what will he sacrifice?

Two to Go
Spoiler here, spoiler there, heck, there's spoilers everywhere. This volume starts with the 100th chapter (and while there are only eight more chapters after that, they get longer and longer). Ed crashlands inside Father (the "ick" factor is shuddering), finding Izumi and an unconscious Al. The nightmare version of Father steps from the shadows, and explains that Hohenheim is trapped inside this black multi-eye covered humanoid form he's currently tap dancing about in.While Lin realizes that Fuu is irrevocably gone, Buccaneer makes him promise to defend the gates of the miitary centre from those still fighting against Briggs and Mustang's groups. Greed armours up, and warns everyone that if they have family they want to return to or someone they love, or just don't want to die, they shouldn't fight him before he lets loose.Meanwhile, the Gold Tooth Doctor has one of his Fuhrer candidates slice Hawkeye's throat to try to force Mustang to agree to perform a Human Transmutation. In spite of his emotional anguish, Mustang refuses, and May Chang arrives in time with the chimeras to save Hawkeye's life. But then the Fuhrer arrives, followed closely by Pride. Because Pride has assimilated Kimblee (an alchemist with the knowledge of how to perform a Human Transmutation), they agree to use the Gold Tooth Doctor and "force" Mustang to perform.Despite being forced, Mustang arrives with the other Human Sacrifices, but blind. But Father points out that they still need Alphonse... who is facing the very thing he has been seeking to find for years: his human form. It seems Al can reunite with his body, or return as he is, to where Ed and the others are trying to fight Father. The fight for Amestris is about to start in earnest, but back with Hawkeye, Scar, and the chimeras, Bradley defiantly demands to know who will take him on. Scar steps up, and Bradley acknowledges the fitting nature of two men, neither with his birth name or any past attachments driving them but both ultimate warriors, fighting to the death. But Bradley will learn that Scar has also changed over his long journey...There are only two more volumes in this series before the adventures of the Fullmetal Alchemist will end, and it's going to be extreme.
