Q: Can this be a replacement for Tonkatsu sauce in recipes?

I’ve made tonkatsu sauce and it has a lot of very distinctive spices… if you love original tonkatsu sauce (and some in my family do) then maybe not, but does tonkatsu cutlets and bachan’s match? Like a tasty dream. Btw the lovers of the original homemade sauce I make, love cutlets with bachan’s and no longer use bulldog if they don’t get homemade sauce, they go for bachan’s

In Japan, our sauce is based on what is called a “tare” which is used to glaze grilled chicken, beef, or seafood, as well as a dipping sauce for many dishes and for the base of Ramen broth. Tare is a very versatile type of sauce in Japan, just like our Japanese Barbecue Sauce, which is a Japanese-American product. There are many types of tare sauces in Japan and a lot of families have their own recipe. Our multigenerational family recipe made its way over from Japan and is uniquely our own. We created the first Japanese Barbecue Sauce here in the US, but if you travel to Japan you will find sauces like ours used in grilling, dipping, basting, glazing, etc. We’re happy and proud to be able to bring those flavors to you and your family, and we hope that it brings your family together for many meals shared together for generations to come.
