First time I've liked French Press
Although I've had French Press coffee, I didn't like it. I hate sludge in the bottom of my cup. So I always made pour-over. But then I purchased brewable cacao which calls for a French Press. I decided to purchase a small, inexpensive one. This was cute and colorful, sounded good, so I bought it.I bought the one cup version. It's adorable! My daughter, who uses French Press regularly, squealed over it. Anyway, I began brewing the cacao in it and was very happy with the results. There is some very fine sediment in the cup, but it isn't bad. Then I began adding a bit of coffee during the final couple of minutes to give a mocha flavor. It surprised me that there wasn't much sediment even with the coffee. The flavor is excellent. It holds heat very well. The few cons with it are: The glass portion doesn't seem to remove from the plastic, so I can't get into the crevasses to clean the outside. I do personally find cleanup a bit difficult. Normally I use a teaspoon to get to the bottom to remove the grounds, or I rinse them out into the toilet because I don't have a garbage disposal. Recently I began scooping out what I can, then rinsing the rest out and putting them through a pour-over setup to be able to toss them into the garbage. That works well. Even though I have a small hand, I can't get into the one-cup press to clean it, so I have to use a long-handled glass brush. Finally, I broke the carafe, but that was almost certainly my own fault. I banged it against the garbage can rather than gently tapping it. Almost cried because I had no way to properly brew the cacao! Ordering another one today, this time in a larger size so I can reheat another cup later or have it cold in the 100+ degree heat. All in all, I'm not tempted to purchase a more expensive one because I see no need to do so. I'm really pleased with this and enjoy the ritual of making coffee, cacao, and tea in this press. Maybe I'll buy two and give one to my daughter!

A Great French Press
I have used several french presses and owned a couple prior; I have had this model for about 3 months after my last shattered after being dropped. This is pretty serviceable and should -- with care -- last a long time. Overall it is a standard french press and makes coffee (in my household at least, one could use it for tea as well) while being as easy to clean as I imagine a french press could be. Coffee from a french press isn't for everyone, they need boiling water and ground coffee, and the resulting coffee is slightly heavier in sediment than your standard American drip coffee machine using a metal mesh filter (and a lot more sediment than with a paper filter). Because the extraction is done at relatively high temperature, adding a lot of ground coffee to these will result in a very strong cup of coffee. I use 2 rounded tablespoons per 12Oz cup for whatever that is worth. The container does indeed hold 32Oz of near-boiling water + coffee grounds with a little bit of room to spare.Pros:- Glass body is heat resistant as advertised- Glass body is wide enough to accommodate my hand + a kitchen towel for drying after washing- Mesh filter unscrews for cleaning (although I use a sink sprayer with very hot water and just loosen the filter to wash out grounds caught in the mesh)Cons:- The glass could be a bit thicker, although no french press that I've seen would clearly resist a drop from a full standing height- Be careful when pouring: the lid has openings on only one side that allows the coffee to pass through. Pouring with the lid in the "closed" position will still allow plenty of near-boiling coffee to pour around the lid and the weight of the liquid coffee may dislodge the lid entirely. No minus stars here as every french press seems to have this fairly ridiculous arrangement.

Very happy with mine
I have had several presses, so I write from experience. Price is my first priority when shopping and I go from there. I've had this one for a few months. I use it every day and multiple times per day. Happy with it and would buy again.Pros:Great price!Internal metal parts are sturdier than mostI like the design. Simple and and clean.Cons:I wish the carafe could slip out easier from the handle part. Most do. It's in there very tight. I haven't been able to wiggle it out yet, but that's not stopped me from washing and using. It would be nice to swap carafes as I have a few.The carafe spout is short. I prefer a longer, more pointed spout which pours better than this shorter, rounded one. There is an arrow on the lid that indicates where the opening is, so that you can align that with the spout for pouring. That arrow is really small and hard to see. It is raised, though, so you can feel it.

Great product and service!!!
The first one of these I ordered came with a defect inside the glass itself. It wasn't damage due to shipping. It was an issue when it was made. I went through the return process and had another one in about 2 days. This also makes great coffee. I hand grind to get the best possible cup of coffee and this product is awesome. I love it!

Poor quality
It cracked on the first few use itself. Trying to connect to the customer care but neither Amazon nor the website of Utopia is available.

Excellent quality french press
This is the third French press I have, the other two I bought from Winners, and they are trash compared to this one. This has quality components, have not broken with daily use multiple times a day. It's a large size, usually I fill it only half way and it can fill my thermos in the morning.Easy to clean, I just fill it up with water and give it a good swirl and give it to the plants around the house and outside the house for the acid loving plants which are many of the flowering ones (roses, rhododendron, etc). Also have a sieve I sometimes use to dump it out into the composter.Filter and plunger are ok, nothing exceptional regarding flavor, but noting it's high quality. Key note there are no plastic parts brewing with the coffee. No plastic components touching my coffee except for the lid which I leave on while pouring it into the cup. Plunger works smoothly, does not get stuck, good smooth feel during the plunge.Overall excelllent, recommend.
