Even permanent Sharpies aren't permanent
Marking my golf ball with this works terrific - use a fine point indelible marker - but when you lift the stencil cup off the ball, lift straight up to prevent smearing the still-wet ink. Also, after playing 9 or so holes, the ball mark starts to really smudge and get worn off badly. So, even permanent markers are not as permanent as the manufacturer's markings on the ball.

Destroys Markers
The template includes several sections that are cut too narrow for even ultra fine tip markers. The result is that it destroys the tips relatively quickly, either by abrading them away or in the case of Sharpie's extra fine tip paint pen, pulling them out of the pen due to snagging. Too bad. Otherwise it would be a decent product.

Good quality
It does what it says it will do. The steel is of good quality. The only issue is that you will want to take a small file and file off the inside edges of the design. That will save you markers in the long run. It is a bit over priced but I found a couple for around $12. That’s more like it.One note, since you need to use a fine too marker it takes a little bit of time to color in the design. So sometimes you may not want to use this while on the course. Prepare a few before your round and you are good to go.

It's great in theory, but not practical
I'd say 90% of mine came out looking like blobs as opposed to the actual design. The sharpie bleeds and it is very difficult on a dimpled ball to imprint a relatively complex design. If you are going to WASTE money on this product - pick something very simple without a bunch of minor cuts and variations in the shape. I wouldn't recommend wasting your money on this.

Beats making dots or your initials... more fun!
Very cool!! My playing partners say they notice a resemblance!!! Without the beard... looks good on a white or colored ball. I used a mini sharpie.I might try another template. They are a lot of fun! Takes maybe 15-20 seconds to color it in!

Quality fun way to uniquely mark your golf balls
I love this ball marker stencil! I have a skull and bones theme to my golf bag and this fits right in. It’s nice to know my golf balls are uniquely marked to hopefully cut down on ghost pick ups and confusion on who’s ball is who’s.

Better way to personalize golf balls
Since it's just a hunk of stamped metal, it's hard not to feel it's overpriced, but since these don't likely sell in the 10's of thousands, they need to set a good price to make a fair return. It was easy to use, markers had to be purchased separately, was able to pull off the ball immediately when done and let them dry while I worked on another one.

Sloppy
Unless you're using paint or shelack the image will be sloppy. If you're just trying to use a marker the image will be sloppy and incomplete.
