Terrible
We bought this for my sons bday gift. Right out of the box there was parts with wires ripped out. My husband is a mechanic so he was able to fix it battery completely dead had to keep it hooked up to a charger. Then finally starts up (took a while to get it fixed and then put together.) the started chain snapped before my son even rode it. He was so upset. We have to wait for new chain. New chain comes we go to the shed, two out of four tires flat. Rides it about 6-7 times in the backyard (having to re fill the tires each time). We just took him to a field and my husband called me furious. The clutch burned out. My husband has worked on this thing more then my son drove it. It has upset my son more then it’s made him happy. Still waiting on replacement tires over a month. Replacement battery dead after two uses. Replacement chain we didn’t even put it on bc it was so thin we bought another one. Terrible. I’m so upset for my son.

I don't understand all the bad reviews
I don't understand all the bad reviews. It seems crazy for the entire thing to just fall apart and arrive busted up, possible, but not likely. I think people are buying these, being cheap but also not being DIY.First, If it arrives busted up, refuse delivery, Contact amazon and the seller. Easy peezy. Freight will be responsible for the damages, and the seller will have no choice on the matter.2nd, It's a TaoTao. It's not complicated, look it over. If you're having a "shop" doing anything to it, you shouldn't be buying a TaoTao. You want a turn key, 10+ years in service machine without replacing a thing, look at a $5,000 honda. I hope in my entire life, I never have so much money I decide to spend that kind of dough on something that is meant to be tortured.I have had mine for about a year now. Arrived,in good time and decent shape. When I say decent, I mean the wood crate had some scuffs and dings but the ATV was bolted down with two clamps, and 4 bolts on the frame. Everything went together easily, started right up and the only issue I have really had was one tire goes flat every month, mainly due to me not seating it well when inflating it and not caring to fix it. The only " cosmetic" issue it had was one rear fender was slightly warped, which was easily corrected.Since then, a 230LB man, has driven the devil out of this thing. During the 2021 ice storm, I pulled TREES with this 4 wheeler attached with a ratchet strap. 10-20 ft long and 6"+ in diameter. Several times I had to get a running start because I would just spin out, all this yanking, and horrible treatment did nothing to it, I was even using the " 50lb" limit racks with these several hundred-pound trees attached.I treat it like crap, and run it wide open most of the time. Yes, It rattles a little at full speed, but nothing has fallen off, and the only work I have done to it replaced the carb because the included fuel filter let some crud in( That should be a given thing to replace). No chain stretching, no electrical issues, ( I mean, seriously, it's less complicated than A power wheels electrically).Lights flicker, it's a 4 wheeler. At idle, the voltage will surge, they all do it.Overall, I have wanted to break it. I'm 31 now, and have driven TaoTaos since I was 15 years old. Yea, they break, yea, the parts are dirt cheap. You never have to worry about damaging something that's worth as much as a decent automobile, instead, you get to treat it like you stole it.While this is for my 8 year old to drive, I do ride it often. I use it to plow through mud to get to my outbuilding when it rains and makes it impossible to walk through, without a beat it throws rooster tails and keeps going.Overall, It's a GREAT price for a decent machine. It's also a GREAT experience to have with your children. Learning to work on things, together, is always priceless. With a TaoTao, That will be ineveitable, and worth every penny.
