This book is awesome! It has the perfect balance between fantasy and romance and is perfect for young adults and teens.

So, how do you approach this dilemma? It's free or almost free, it has charm and high energy, and it's a goofy fun read. It is also poorly edited and formatted, with lots of typos and some grammatical errors. Luckily, it isn't loaded with improperly used "big words" that demonstrate that the author has access to a thesaurus but has no idea what many words mean. I say "luckily" because that is a deal killer for me. As to the rest, I wouldn't assign this as required reading for students learning to use English properly, but I'm willing to bet that most adults could be exposed to such a poorly edited book and not lose their command of the language.In other words, I come out on the side of "read it!".Princess Ahira is snarky, but funny snarky and pretty decent-hearted to boot. Her dragon is elegant, charming and appealing. Secondary characters are lovably quirky. The love interest is dreamy and the romance angle is pretty much written as a bit of a mock on teen romances, (which I'm happy to assume is intentional). There are lots of funny non-girly spunky princesses out there in new books right now, and in fact lots of them are engaged in frustrating, upsetting and ultimately bonding with their confused dragons, but it seems to me that there's always room for one more in the pool. Especially if, as here, there is a high level of cheerful good-natured goofy fun.Please note that I found this book while browsing Amazon Kindle freebies. This is a fun read with lots of twists and turns. I appreciate the development of the characters and the lead is strong but also feminine.

K.M. Shea is the best at creating or retelling fairytales. If you've never read her work, this is a good place to start. Great book for YA, engaging, funny and clean (no curse words or sexual situations). All of her stories also feature a strong heroine which I think today's young women will appreciate and hopefully adopt in their own lives. Also Zerah's stint as a kitten is stinking hilarious!

What a great book!I loved this story so much.It was so fun and quirky and I loved the world and all the little drops of different fairy tales in it.A quick read but well worth it!

This is an earlier work of the author. I love her newer books, but I had to force myself to finish this one. It was cute, but a tad boring, odd pacing, and underdeveloped.

It’s no secret that I love this author, but imagine my surprise when I realized I’d never read this book of hers. This story was such a fun adventure, with a unique storyline and lots of fun cameos by fairytale creatures and well known fairytale characters. I loved Ahira- she is full of spunk and courage and doesn’t let people push her around. The story had many twists and turns and was just so fun to read!

I bought this book because I have read many of KKShea’s books and enjoy the clean romance and action. This book had less action, but I found myself laughing out loud through many parts of the story. If I had borrowed this from the library, I would make sure to purchase my own copy since I can see myself reading it again and again in my future!

I love how K M Shea is able to twist fairy tales into such an enjoyable and unexpected way.This was such a lovely story. When there is so much wrong with our own world there is nothing like the true escapism of a light hearted read.

Very fun to read ! And quite unique in its approach. K.M Shea's signature brand of humour shone through it as well.

If you liked the Magical Beings Rehab Centre series, you’ll love this book. Light-hearted, pokes fun at fairytales in a great way & has wonderfully entertaining & likeable characters. A fun read

I love K.M. Shea's books. This was my first one. It was mostly light hearted and transported me away from all the stress of everyday life. I would say this book was like getting a bunch of kittens to play with and a pizza to eat at the same time!!
