This tool is really good at what it does. I used it to build a crib for my baby coming in September and it made setting the dowels a breeze. seriously. It was very accurate and very easy to set up and use. Its made of good looking, heavy grade aluminum, and is exactly what I needed and expected it to be. Good tool. Good value. buy this one.

I'm sure they make better dowel jigs but this jig is simple to use and gives accurate results...it's heavy and built really nice...I use 3/8 dowels mostly and I wanted to double dowel at times just like the the double doweler you can get...I believe grizzly and Trition sells...so I made a mark between the two marks that you line up for each hole...work great and very accurate...I honestly don't believe you would be disappointed in this dowel jig......BUY IT!!!!

Very solidly made, works as advertized. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is that it came a little bit off center, with no instructions on how to get it dialed in. It took a few minutes to find a video, and now it works great.

Worked perfectly to join boards together. Worked perfectly to drill a hole for dowels. Worked perfectly to drill a perpendicular hole. Works perfectly for it’s intended purpose and more. Very accurate. Stays securely in place. Very stable while drilling. Highly recommended over other similar products.

Works perfectly!! I’m building a cabinet to enclose an outdoor TV on my deck and used maybe 30 dowels (probably overkill) and they all lined up perfectly on the first try when putting the pieces together.

This tool is very well constructed, the moving parts work in concert, clamping evenly and most important the alignment guides are well designed with a large viewing window on either side which is critical for the woodworker with exiting standards. The difference in cost is more than justified.

I got this to join two pieces of oak end-to-end in a mitered joint for the base of some railing for a loft. It probably works much better for smaller pieces when used with a drill press or positioned where a hand-held drill can be more consistent. Also found I had to do some precise shimming with paper to get the holes to be a consistent distance from the good surface.I'm a noob so this is probably my fault, but if I was to do it again for this high-precision job, I think a biscuit cutter would have been a better choice.

Nice simple jig, to bad the holes aren't aligned when you drill them. Tried many many times to get this to work as it should but I couldn't get it to do holes that would leave both wood surfaces flush with each other. I am a professional woodworker with over 30 years experience and I couldn't make this do what it was suppose to on a consistent basis.

Well built & easy to use.Night & day from the other one i purchased & retuned.1 minor adjustment but set up true now.I like the ability of being able to clamp a 6 inch wide board.

Used for dowels and also dominos tenons. 5/16 dominos can be used for jointing by drilling the two end holes, then moving the jig to drill 3 more holes between them. Finish with minor cleaning of the mortise.The dominos are very good for strength but will be a bit loose, so two dowels can be used in one place to help with alignment.

The one I received is not working properly. The 1/4 and 5/16 will not screw in. They will only screw in one turn then become tight and go no further. The 3/8 is fine it screw in all the way.
