Good for long meetings. Sound not to be compared with actual headphones
There are a few things about these headphones. The sound sound never be compared to usual headphones. Nowhere near. The sound however is very fair for being bone conductive. In regards the statement that you can be aware of your surroundings due tony fact is not blocking your ears, not really true. Unless if the sound is low. Otherwise you can’t hear anything other than the sound coming from the headphones. The first two weeks I had a bit of a dizziness but now I got use to them. They last long enough so when having long meeting, no problem. One of the main however advantages is the fact that is not blocking your ears. So if you have to have them on your head for long time due to meetings etc, no problem at all.Do not buy the white ones. I returned them second week because they turned black at the edge for some reason as if they were dirty. I have the black ones now and no problem.Updates on this product (23/02/21), the product is good for two things, can hold long meetings without bothering your ears, and can stay in place when running. Now when connected to more than one devise, the Bluetooth system I would classify it as really really bad. It disconnects one or the other devise, and then constantly whilst on a meeting for example, is making the reconnecting sound, literally the entire time. When want to connect on a devise it seems that it’s getting confused quite a lot and quite constantly. When running, the claim that you can hear the roar is false, unless if the sound is very low. Otherwise no way you can hear anything else. I would consider it very mediocre.

Good - if not perfect.
Having used Aftershokz for many years and having had most of their range, this is my latest edition. The “Air” which I owned before this was destroyed when I got caught by a thunderstorm, so I was keen to get a design which protected the electronics entirely even if not rated water proof.OpenMove fitted the bill well. The electronics are completely sealed. So far sweat has had no impact (but that was expected). Have not been caught in torrential rain yet but hoping it will survive. The sound quality is OK. As the “Air” was the flagship and I went for the 2nd tier model this time, it shows in the sound. Both volume and quality is a bit disappointing compared to the Air. However that it is OK and liveable. These do not produce £500-800 open back headphone quality sound - but you know that already! One annoying thing in use is that compared to the “Air” the band is harder and retains better shape so I hear it slapping against my head whilst running. This is annoying and disappointing, although you do learn to shut it out after a few hours use.Overall. It’s “OK”. Not great and the “Air” was better and perhaps I should have paid twice this for the flagship model. However if the primary intention is to have some sound to distract you and you are looking for a well sealed device which should survive a down pour then this should be your choice.

Not perfect but I like them
I think this is all about expectations. The sound quality is not as good as proper cans, but then no one should be expecting that really. It's comparable to an average set of in-ear headphones in my mind.If you crank the volume on your phone/watch/other device AND the headphones (I struggled to get a decent volume initially), then it can get pretty loud, but you have to put up with it noticeably buzzing against your skin at high levels - you can really feel the vibrations which I don't like.Where you place the contact points also has a big effect on the volume and bass/mid/treble level you hear. There's not really any guidance that I could find for this. I looked at a number of their marketing pictures but found that, certainly for music while running/riding, I needed to have them much closer to the tragus (had to Google that to find the correct name...) than most of their images show.Once the volume is cranked up as I would have it for exercise, then my ability to pick up external sounds like cars coming, is little better than with my cans on until the noise is very close. The sound really fills your head. As a car goes past then it's actually worse than with the cans on, as I have two full volume sounds at once, so I can't hear the music properly. There's probably nothing AfterShokz can really do about this as I guess it's just down to my brain getting an auditory overload, like trying to listen to 5 people speak at once - it'll probably affect some people more than others. For non-exercise activities like calls, listening to audio books etc. positioning seems a bit easier, and I have found them particularly good for this. The mic seems good as well based on my colleagues feedback. I can also hear external sounds absolutely fine, whether it's my wife calling from upstairs or the doorbell going. In terms of comfort it's definitely better than any in-ear headphones I've owned. No better or worse than my cans, as they are already very comfortable.Overall I am happy with them and will continue to use them for exercise and calls.

Great running headphones.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how well these work as headphones to use while running. The sound quality is much better than I'd expected - not super wonderful hi-fi quality, but still a good soundstage (sense of spatial separation of instruments), clear mids and highs, and very decent volume - I use these at a 50% volume on my iPhone. They stay well attached to my head - no fretting about losing them, and, of course, as they work by bone conduction, your ears are unobstructed so you can hear all around you - important for keeping safe. I being to wonder how good the more expensive ones are - might be worth a try one day.

Out and About
Wanted something for walking/running and cycling, sound quality was my biggest worry but needn't have they are very good for what I listen to, which is audio books or sometimes rock while running etc. They are not hiFi Quality but they are much better than i expected.Drawbacks I have found - initially felt uncomfortable on my ears but that passed, they do not go as loud as traditional headphones and when turned up loud they do tingle a bit at the sides of your head but you do not notice if you are focussing on something else. While riding fast wind noise can drown out the sound but rather that than not hear the traffic.Overall very happy, would recommend for sports etc.
