Take the food bin off of the feeder and the slot is in that area. It doesn’t work very well. I have a 32 g card in but I can’t seem to watch any of the videos that it records, I see that there are recordings on the time bar but playback always fails.

Q: is it weatherproof to be placed outside?

The unit is not weather proof. However, I've used mine outside thru one winter under a roof cover protected from precipitation to feed two outdoor cats. The feeder is within wi-fi range of my house. I had to make a platform which the feeder sits on for the cats to jump up on and eat, and yet not allow racoons to climb or jump on.
