I was a bit hesitant to wash my hat in a dishwasher but decided to give it a try. I did two hats, one used for yard work which had a lot of dirt debris, and my daily hat which had sweat stains throughout but was afraid it could lose its fit and shape. The instructions recommend a normal wash cycle to avoid hot water, but my dishwasher does not have that option so it used hot water, which I was afraid it could mess with the shape and fit. I did stop the cycle when it tried to heat dry, as the instructions recommend air-drying instead and avoiding the heat dry feature of the dishwasher.Both hats came out really clean and almost looking new again. (make sure to use non-acidic dish soap per instructions). One of the hats originally had a weird shape, and this re-shaped it with a better fit.Pros about the item- Keeps the hat in good shape and does not shrink or wrinkle the fit of the hat.- Can help re-shape hats with a bad fit.- Does not accidentally open during a clean cycle as it has a good firm fit.Cons about the item- The close pins are sometimes a bit hard to open, but this helps keep it closed while washing.

Ok, I've seen these things advertised here and there for AGES now but never paid it much attention because like a lot of As Seen on TV type stuff, you end up using it a few times then it collects dust. I have a big hats/caps collection and my favorites are either the really dark colored ones or whites. As yall know those 2 colors it's so hard to keep clean so I don't wear them often. The black ones I wear is a dust magnet... the white ones I wear just takes a day of sweating in it and it'll leave water mark/lines. I've tried hat cleaners and though they work on most colors, on whites it just makes them worse.About a month ago I got a HORRIBLE haircut, so I relied on hats everyday. And while doing so there were many times I couldn't match perfectly because a particular hat color combo would have a small stain or something on it. I decided you know what? Let's just get one of these and try it, I've got nothing to lose but $15 and maybe a hat. As soon as it arrived I tried it right away and much to my surprise, it WORKS AMAZING!! That same evening I did 6 hats total, all different colors with different dirty marks and all but one came out looking like brand new (just not as crisp but thats as expected). My black hats never looked better! Some of my hats with whites looks 90% better, I think another run will make it perfect.. or maybe treat it first with a strain remover. I'm soooo happy with this purchase it's crazy that I didn't consider it all these years!!

Here is a way to clean baseball caps!! Actually works for both old and newer caps.

Used it to wash my hats.

He was very pleasantly surprised when it worked. He used it in the dishwasher, nothing else in it, and a small squeeze of regular dish soap. Helpful hint: most dish soap is concentrated; when I say a little squirt I mean a teaspoon or less. Make sure the detergent doesn't contain lemon or bleach. We used Dawn Orange antibacterial, but any kind without bleach or lemon would work. His hats came out very clean and fresh, even the white material. He said they don't look brand new, but they were definitely clean and fresh and surprisingly clean on white material without bleach. Do not use the dry function; we hang them in the shower on my loofa hooks.

Works great. Hat does not loose shape when washed.

I've only used this so far 1 time on my dirtiest, favorite, hat. As you can see in the first picture it had quite a lot of sweat stains.This product works! Second picture you can see it fits fine. The clasps hold it together well and it's not difficult to take on and off.I suspect that this hat may have been too far gone, but after 1 wash in the dishwasher it did get cleaner! Can recommend this product.

I used this product to wash my dirty, stinky hats. Two black ones and a pale pink one. The black ones had white sweat stains all around the outer and inner band, clearly visible. These hats are well loved and I was nervous about using a product that could possibly ruin them.I searched Amazon and the internet for a long time before buying a hat cage. I read numerous reviews and settled on buying these hat cages.When I got the package the cages were ziptied together and had air bubble wrap surrounding them in the box.They were bigger than I had thought, but this actually became a good thing as I think it contributes to the quality of the product.I washed my first black hat after soaking in Resolve, cold water and delicate cycle in the washing machine. The instructions suggest a dishwasher but as I cannot change the water temp on my dishwasher I had to use the washing machine. After the 30min cycle I opened the lid and to my surprise, everything was in tact.I have used these cages numerous times now for both mine and my roommates hats and I have not been disappointed by broken cages or wrecked hats.The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because all my hats came out somewhat bunched at the back. I think this is because the dome part of the cage is a little too wide and a little too short. That is the only down side I have found so far.

First time use, I was really impressed and happy with my purchase.Second time use, I was disappointed and sadly it ended in the bin.I guess I won't be using it for the third time.All the other clothes and the whole drum were covered with the plastic bits.It is a shame as it did a really good job at first.
