Very easy to just pull off
I am a 60-something year-old lady and I found these very easy to pull off, because the end of the screw that fits against the window track is flat and just slides off the metal track. I found another brand that has a pointed screw and a smaller, more recessed hex opening that holds MUCH better, and is much more difficult to remove.

Easy to use
Growing up I always had locks similar to this on my bedroom window. Now that I am a parent, I wanted to secure my windows for my kids, but have been unable to find anything like them, so was very excited to see these. They are easy to open and close with the long handle and screw and stay in place when tightened down. And you don't have the long handle left hanging out. You can remove it and set it aside. I have mine in the top drawer next to the baby's window in case of emergency. When I went to put the lock on her window I was concerned it wouldn't stay in place or work because of the way the window track is shaped. But it is working perfectly. I had no trouble putting it on, it hasn't moved at all, and the window has been opened up to where it stops it without knocking it off. I have so much more peace of mind having this on rather that the ones we used to have that required us to drill holes through the frame and then use an actual key in the lock. So much easier, no damage to your window tracks, and works great!

Add some sand paper to the mix.
Just as many complained...these will slide amd are not secure. However I found a simple but ghetto way to make a single lock hold each window. I used a small piece of 180 grit sandpaper with the sandy side toward the frame. Just a big enough piece to fit under the bolt works fine. My windows have vinyl frames and would likely break if I attempted to crush the bolt tight enough to hold. With the sand paper trick it only takes medium force to hold the lock steady. I test by pulling up on the window and the sand paper binds the lock and it does not move. Also have not noticed any scratches. This house is a rental anyway lol. I just needed something basic to slow someone down and create racket if they attempt to open the window. If a person wants to get in they will get in. If you already bought these then this is a fix to make them usable. Hope this info helps.

Don't trust your safety to these "locks". They don't work
This product didn't think about real life use. You cannot install securely with the Allen key supplied. You need an elbow L-shaped Allen key to get the leverage needed to tighten. Luckily I had one in the house if the same size. Without this you can see from my video that a window can fairly easily displace this "lock". IT DOESN'T WORK. WHEN YOU SLIDE THE WINDOW IT WILL KNOCK THE LOCK OUT OF PLACE.If there screw had a pointed end it could grip better, but as other reviewed have notes it's a flat end. There were no instructions. What is the plastic piece for that comes with the key?Every lock comes with a key. May be that's necessary. For me in just need a few keys.
