Not Prime Time Ready - Can not get a movie to play on Netflix
Initially disappointed. The device itself is really small and cute. I have Netflix set up, but I can not actually get a movie to play. The only option is the remote, and I was selecting every button multiple. Playing a movie should be OBVIOUS.First off, I am fairly tech savvy. I actually work in edtech, and I enjoy messing around with devices. But I also have a busy life and I don't have time to waste on mediocre interfaces. Maybe it had something to do with me trying to find a movie for my daughter and ending up on TV shows that kept trying to get me to select seasons. I don't know and I don't really care because I expect this kind of thing to be fairly straightforward. I have had no trouble using the FireStick for instance and there is an option to use that here.I also selected mirroring and I could not get that to work. I also selected Bluetooth and it was unclear what was called what. And yes, I have done mirroring and bluetooth connections on many devices without trouble. I'm not saying these don't work, but it's not a fast set-up for me using newer Mac devices.Software is slowly updating after I did the classic restart. We will see.If you have time to waste on getting things set up and don't mind fiddling around with a substandard remote that is your only way of controlling the device, then this projector, whose speakers I am unable to hear because I can't yet get anything to play, has potential. But if you want to get something quickly setup I highly recommend you look elsewhere.UPDATE:This portable projector stopped updating when I moved it. Only options at 63% finished were to retry or cancel.Tried the Fire Stick. Did not work. It’s claiming insufficient USB power (hmmm… I am using your USB since you are a portable device). After it finished optimizing it went through the same routine of saying there is insufficient USB power and it needs 10 minutes (again) to optimize. And again.I updated software. No change.Tried Netflix again. Yeah, there is no way to access the play button with the remote. I can’t play Netflix.I spent 1.5 hours with this thing gearing up for a special weekend with my daughter and could not get it to play anything. Glad I had the foresight to try this BEFORE she arrived.Happy to save $200 and return this. It makes me realize I don’t need this to create a special movie night with her. I will move my 4K monitor into the bedroom thank you.

upgraded
I saw the G0300 was not being sold any more after I purchased so I returned it. The CRENOVA was shown in comparison. But this little jewel came with a full 1 year warranty, full refund. Not 30, not 90 but 1 year refund if not satisfied. Also came with mounting place for a tripod. G0300 didn't. Trial and error with setting up external speaker and Fire stick but I think this is it, after trying three brands. 3 is a charm! Sound is great without external speaker if there's just a few in the room and conversation is at a decent level. External speaker would be used for movie night with large group of friends and family when conversations could be louder than usual. So far so good.

Good device, some small improvements needed - Reads only FAT32 format
In general, it is a good device. A few improvements (based on my experience): when projecting on the ceiling, it is unpractical to charge it at the same time, and the remote has a hard time to work (I am guessing the remote sensor is at the back of the projector). The remote needs some significant improvements (more control, options... e.g. when using Netflix, I am not able to pause or search). Up until now, I was not able to read any files from a USB flash drive, I tried all the configuration parameters. I emailed the manufacturer, but they are not very reactive. I found out that it doesn't read exFAT nor NTSF formats, only FAT32 formats which is an older format.

Surprisingly good, very portable, and well made.
First, the use case. No, this isn't my main projector. I bought it to go with a karaoke machine. The portability and Bluetooth makes it perfect for this, and the built-in Android (which is surprisingly responsive) is great for karaoke apps and YouTube. The remote is really good. It can be used as a gesture remote so you can just move it and the cursor will follow on screen. Also, it can project to very short distances so it may end up serving a second life as a cookie projector. The Android UI is highly customized but does everything I could want it to do.Finally, battery life is pretty good. At least a few hours.

Crenova Mini Projector
Overall, for my purposes (outdoor movie night with grandkids) it’s a perfectly fine projector. Two complaints are; the battery life is rated for 2hrs and it’s only lasting for 1 1/2 hours and the remote is very difficult to open and not the most responsive.
