The Leader: an arranged marriage romance (Bad Romance Book 1)

The characters were very interesting and created well. The story kept me wanting to turn the pages to see what was going to happen next. I will be looking forward to more.

The H is 30 years old and made a deal to marry one of the Rossigranddaughters for two years. In exchange he'll get RossiEnterprises. He says he needs this to exact revenge for his parentsdeath. He's a real estate mogul but with a gangster's reputation.“This is Jocelyn. Graduated top of her class. She wrote a thesis onsoftware programming and—”“Not that one,” Gio said, discarding the picture. He needed a wifewho loved to spend her days shopping and visiting a salon. Onethat wouldn't ask any questions and would leave him the f$$$alone.The H has decided he's going to choose The Rossi's favoritegranddaughter to marry. His choices are between the spendthrift/lazy one, the smart/tomboy one, or the innocent/naive one.Overall the story was entertaining. The side characters were interesting enough for me to sample the next books in this series. This book had drama, action, kidnapping, a murder investigation, revenge, abuse, etc. It never once got boring.Unnecessary font size change on chapters 11, 19, 27, and 30.

Loved the banter and conversations between all characters. It had just the right amount of internal dialog. Chemistry between the leads was good.

Jazzy’s been setup by her grandfather to marry Gio, thus tying their criminal enterprises together. Even though she’s not at all willing, circumstances force her to comply.But their marriage, and their commitment to each other is tested, over and over. Sometimes by their lack of faith in their bond, sometimes by the horrific events surrounding them. And just when Jazzy is beginning to believe they could be life mates, others intervene to try to destroy their as yet unacknowledged love, and take their lives.

This story was captivating from start to finish. If you love strong stubborn female leads this book is perfect. The writer did an amazing job at telling this amazing love story. Characters are well put together. The story just flows smoothly and it has just the right amount of toxicity and romance without being cliche. Love Shanna Bell.

For the first 75% of this book, it really hit the spot for me. I'm not sure what happened after that point, but my interest seemed to wander. I listened to the audiobook, and it was great, and I'm still excited for the rest of the books in the series, but something just flatlined towards the end for me.

This was a good read. I enjoyed it.

This book had me back and forth on loving it or really disliking it. The story is what kept me going and Gio and Jazzy are great characters.Jazzy is like me, strong independent woman who won’t be told to sit still and look pretty.Magic style story with two people who want to avenge family’s honor and loved ones.I recommend this book and you will be on a rollercoaster from start to finish. Through the hard parts, fun parts and experience two family dynamics that are strong.Below is my open way of talking to Mr. Gio Detta and Jazzy.Mr. Detta, I have a love/dislike relationship with you. I like that you are many things and being protective with everyone makes me love you more. I don’t like that you don’t want any woman in your life to work.Jazzy, you are like me and I love that you are trying to start a company. You are free spirited and I love that you won’t take any crap from anyone.

AMENDMENT: THIRD TIME READING THIS, AND ONE THING I NEGLECTED TO MENTIONS WAS THE EMOTION THIS STORY PULLS FROM YOU; ANGER, FRUSTRATION, LAUGHTER, HEAT & INCREDIBLE SADNESS - I SOBBED - IF YOU ARE DEBATING - STOP! OWN THIS BOOK CAUSE YOU'LL BE READING IT OFTEN! Great story, fast-paced, entertaining and enough heat to keep the reader toasty warm. Light hints of mafia traits to give it an edge but the story is mostly focused on Gio (head of the family who wants to buy a firm that will help him bring to "justice" the murderer of his parents) and Jazz (granddaughter of another "family" that has made a business deal of selling his firm that Gio wants with the stipulation that Gio must marry one of the old man's granddaughters) Jazz is strong-willed, loyally dedicated to those she trusts and calls friends/family and who will not be part of her grandfathers/Gio's business deal. Unfortunately for her, she catches the attention of Gio, after he comes to their house to meet with the granddaughters to determine his future bride, when he mistakes Jazz for a thief (grandfathers sends Jazz into his office to retrieve something from his safe all the while knowing that Gio is waiting in his office and will not know who Jazz his) Although Jazz gives some good punches she is overtaken by Gio's size, he forces her to the ground...until Jazz's sister intervenes explaining that Jazz is her grandfathers' assistant and allowed to access the safe. Once released Jazz gets the heck out of there, not just the house but the country because she acknowledges that he is way over her head and wants nothing to do with his dominance even though it was very apparent both of them were very attracted to one another. During the dinner Gio confronts the old man when he realizes one of his daughters has stood up the dinner...at this point the grandfathers states that if Gio wasn't able to keep her near perhaps he needs a more docile wife ( knowing full well that Gio will want to meet the missing daughter just out of spite) When Gio demands the old man to call the missing daughter and hear's Jazz's voice, he decides two things: 1: demands her to return home before midnight or pay the consequences and 2. he is going to marry this daughter. From here is it just gets more and more delicious!! And what I really liked about this story is that Jazz never loses her "alpha" qualities..she doesn't become some simpering wife...

Good written.... favourable for romance readers...plot is thrilling and simple language....though it is quite common....there is something that will make every reader jump...

Found it by luck and i am not disappointed. Fun ,sexy and easy read. Liked it !!!I recommend it

I’ve read a lot of mafia arranged marriage books. They all have a similar plot, similar characters and settings, but in some ways that’s what make them enjoyable. There’s nothing unexpected in this book, but it is well written and an enjoyable way to spend a few hours.
