Jim Woodring Pupshaw And Pushpaw #1 Hardcover – Picture Book, September 8, 2004

Jim Woodring's works usually have an undertone of dark fear or menace under the bright and cheerful psychedelia. Out of all of his characters, Pupshaw and Pushpaw, two pets who are best friends, have always struck me as the most uncomplicated and the least scary. That's not to say that they don't sometimes encounter scary beings or situations, but they don't seem to get as caught up in the dark side as other Woodring characters such as Frank. Definitely worth checking out this book if you are looking for a brighter, more user-friendly Woodring.

Buy it if you want 16 small watercolor paintings of Frank's pets. It's not even really a story they're just kind of walking around different environments
