Excellent "insider" account
This follows a string of well-written books about Titanic and other H&W built ships plus a very amusing personal history entitled "No place for a boy".Mr McCluskie is very well placed to write this account of the rise and ultimate demise of a company at the heart of Belfast, as he was there and saw it with his own eyes. Apart from the history of the company, the book contains a full list of the ships built by H&W and many photographs that I had not seen before.Highly recommended for those interested in ships and shipping.

Breadth of content
As a former employee I was disappointed that it omitted some detail of life as the workers experienced. However the struggle it had to survive over the earlier years was interesting.
