Get Started in Portuguese Absolute Beginner Course: The essential introduction to reading, writing, speaking and understanding a new language (Teach Yourself Language)

Description states "This pack includes a book and one MP3 CD of audio material." But no CD included.

This is a good starter reference to get started in learning Portuguese and in building a good base. There are more thorough books out there, but this one is a bit gentler without sacrificing the intellectual rigor. It is based on the 'discovery method' which is supposedly proven to be the best method.. In reality it depends on the individual - I liked the old style of do it yourself books. For example the dialogues don't have translations, although it is cool how they make them understandable none the less.This book doesn't come with an audio CD, but fear not! The audio supplement is available on the teach yourself website, as are the supplements for many other teach yourself language books. Unfortunately the audio is arranged by alphabetical order. So chapter 1 is followed by chapter 10, 11, 12 etc. You have to scroll through to find the right tracks.

My wife is Portuguese and I've been trying to learn enough European Portuguese to pass the Portuguese citizenship tests, and thereby also get my EU citizenship back. This book is a great way to get to grips with some of the basics of Portuguese grammar and vocabulary in a practical way. I've tried a few other books, and to be honest this is the best.

Disappointed to have to download the audio every time I use the book.

Book looks okay and the app was easy to put on my phone

I think the book is really good but cannot get the audible content to work!! All the other books I ave bought work, but not this one !!!!
