A Terrific Read
This is a terrific read. It is both funny and poignant. While it is principally a story about the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for comedy, it turns out to be much more. There is a good deal in the book about the author that is not directly related to the Mark Twain Prize. While I would normally expect that to be annoying and distracting, it is far from that. The author, Cappy McGarr, has clearly lead as interesting and fulfilling a life as most or all of the famous people he talks about. And he is as funny as many of the comedians he describes. Most of all, he comes across a down to earth individual who can laugh at himself and has a deep and abiding love for his family. It’s very sweet. The behind the scenes look at the Prize is filled with fascinating stories as well as very candid commentary. Some of it is quite poignant, most of it is laugh-aloud funny. In short this is a delightful read that will be hard to put down.

Amazing behind-the-scenes stories
A ton of really cool insider stories about all the great comedians that Cappy has met. The one about Bill Murry and Obama having putting contest in the Oval Office was incredible. The book flies by--really funny and under the surface there Cappy gives some nice life lessons from a life very well-lived. 5 stars!

Mark Twain would not be happy
This book was not even close to humorous. All it contains is the author rendition of his life. Someone sure was kind to him by suggesting that he was funny. Bad buy!
