This book is packed full of places to see and things to do on Route 66. Er are going west to east to n the Route in May 2024, and this is perfect!

Purchased this for my brother, who I am trying to come for a visit. He was excited to receive it but has of yet left the house, so I can’t really comment on it’s usefulness.

My wife and I got this book because we wanted a good guide to the old Route 66, but, many of the places that it tried to take us, were never, ever part of Route 66. It try’s to get you to go out of your way, to see places that aren’t really that old but they are trying to make it look like they have been around for years. The places that they try to get you to go. Most times are many miles off of your Route, like in many cases a hundred miles away from the Route 66. Also , without a gos on your cell phone, your never going to be able to find any of the places that they are supposed to be on the old Route 66. There’s just no way that most of the places were ever on the Route 66, because they are spread out all over the towns and they aren’t in anyway connected as a road is. Just people who have sent their business address to the people who made the book, most of the business themselves haven’t been in business for that long, maybe 15 or 20 years, and they decommissioned the old Route 66 in the 1980’s, so you can figure it out for yourself. It was truly a huge letdown for us, as we probably are never going to be able to make this trip again.

We have enjoyed our Rt. 66 road trips. We have taken three mini trips. This book will help you enjoy other experiences along and near Rt. 66.

This is a gem and btw the only guide book for west to east travel on Route 66. It is well written with excellent descriptions. Will have to wait on my trip to see how accurate.

Love this guide book. We’re going from So. Cal to Chi. and it’s nice to not have to read it from back to front. We used this to plan our whole route.

I would recommend this book as a side to some of those which deal with the entire route. It's fun, has some interesting play lists and different things to see, but do not use it as your go to "follow Route 66".
