A must have for dog owners!
The media could not be loaded. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. This life jacket worked out perfect for my dog. I usually have a difficult time trying to find any apparel type item that will fit my dog. This however, fits him marvelously, almost like it was made just for him. I purchased this item a few months ago and it has seen pretty much daily use. I must say, the quality of this jacket is really top notch. Everything about it is sturdy and well built, nothing that seems cheap or like it could break easily. Cody, my dog, absolutely loves the water. To the point where even though he’s exhausted, we have to literally drag him out of the pool. Ever since we got this life jacket, he always wears it whenever he’s going in the pool. It doesn’t impede his swimming whatsoever, if anything it makes it easier for him. The jacket helps keeps him afloat so he doesn’t have to work so hard to stay above the water. While we always keep an eye on him while he’s in the pool, I definitely feel so much better knowing that he has this on. I highly recommend this life jacket to any and all dog owners!

Very well made
I have a lab who cannot swim! Can you believe it? She let's her butt droop into the water and tries to walk on the bottom then sinks... can't keep her nose out of the water to breath. I've tried teaching her but she's not gotten the hang of it. Our other lab seems born for water. I don't understand.I've been looking for a life jacket because I'm afraid to take her in my boat. I looked at several pet stores but the offerings (some of them sold here on Amazon) seemed poorly made with a handle/stitching which looked like it would rip off straight away if I ever had to use it to get her into the boat. They didn't fit well and appeared to be made using cheap materials that would not hold up. If she was a small dog, those others might have been OK but she's a large dog.I continued looking and discovered this one. The photos gave me the impression this was constructed using better materials with a better, non-cumbersome design. I measured her and picked the size shown on the chart. I ordered it knowing I could return it. It fits perfectly...(I ordered the XL)...snug and secure around her body but not tight. It's the appropriate length also. The fabric is more durable than others I considered. The buckles, stitching and handles are also sturdy. The design offers plenty of flotation while allowing her legs to move freely. She still tries to get her hind legs to touch bottom, alternating between trying to extend her legs to reach bottom and then paddling. It's the funniest most awkward thing to watch but her head is kept safely out of the water while she "freestyles".

Perhaps Not For The Short-Haired and Swim-Obsessed
I’m sure this life jacket will work for some, but not for my very active Jack Russel/Pit mix. Unfortunately I didn’t realize how much the padding in front was creating a rash before it was too late (which makes me think dogs with longer hair you REALLY won’t notice because Holland’s hair is super short), and after a weekend of swimming at our family lake house, she was left with oozing rashes on her chest. That being said, Holland is a crazy swimmer and only comes out of the lake when forced to do so (hence the jacket so we don’t need to worry about her exhausting herself) so maybe for occasional swimmers with less sensitive skin, this jacket will not pose a problem? I can’t imagine this causing the same issues for a dog who had a beach day once a week during the summer. Previous jackets I’ve had left her with rashes from the straps riding up at the neck, but the rashes from the padding around this jacket’s straps - supposedly to prevent that - are much worse. I have, however, noticed that this jacket does less armpit chaffing than my previous ones. All that being said, FINALLY a medium/large dog jacket with a sturdy handle and a leash ring that doesn’t immediately rip the first time the dog pulls! The floatation is very balanced and my dog seemed very comfortable in it before it gave her rashes.

Awesome jacket!
We've tried a few different lifejacket and this is by for BOTH of our favorites. I love all the straps to make it secure and how buoyant it is. My Charlie is clearly more comfortable in it than any other. Added points for how nice it looks on top of everything else. Love it!

Came in clutch when needed
This life jacket fits my pup perfectly. It allows him to move easily but fits snugly where needed. He is a deep chested 45lb border collie lab mix and wears and XL.We upgraded from the petsmart brand ahead of a recent float trip down the Colorado. I am infinitely grateful we did. When going through some minor white water the boat flipped and me and the dog took a swim. Another kayak was able to grab our dog by the back handle and steer him to me once I righted the boat. The chest strapping in addition to the velcro made it certain we could lift him out and the front strap kept his head above water. The webbing and the velcro are beefy and I'm confident they will hold up to future abuse.Seriously, spend the extra few dollars, it's worth the peace of mind.
