I’ve had this badge since the start of my nursing career in 2017. This thing is a TANK, I’m telling you what. I badge into doors constantly at work. I bought it in a two pack and the second reel is still in the packaging. The string has not worn down, it never sags no matter how many cards your institute gives you to hang on it, the reel is still snappy, and the loop for your badge is reinforced (barely any wear on the corner of mine). I love this thing. I have a sentimental attachment to it, because it’s been with me through everything.2/23/23 Update:Well folks, it finally broke this morning. I keep it clipped to the top loop on my backpack when I’m not wearing it so I don’t forget to take it to work, and as I moved it to my scrub top this morning, I mused about how old it is (even joked to myself that the day it broke would be the day I retire). I was 3/4 through my 12-hour shift and went to badge in to a door and the retracting spring mechanism made a little *pop* sound and broke.A few years back, my friend had a badge reel that broke at work and she cried because it was the reel she first started working in the medical fieldwith. I laughed at the time, but I totally get it. This badge has lasted me through the thick and thin of my nursing career. A lot of “firsts” were experienced while wearing this badge reel; trauma, patient death, the one time we had to do an emergency C-section in the regular OR, the time I saw a tiny neonate survive a crazy bedside surgery, the time I put a surgeon in their place for waaaaayyyy overstepping a line with me. It’s such a small inconsequential item, but it’s the single thing that has lasted me through 6(! Already!!) years of nursing. I’ve lost pens and scissors, I don’t wear a stethoscope anymore because I’m not at the bedside. I replace my shoes twice a year. But this reel is the real deal. My ride-or-die through all of my career changes, lol.Others have said the snap loosens, but I never had an issue with it, really. Sometimes it would pop open if the ring I kept a keychain Sharpie on pulled the wrong way, but I never had an issue even when it was loaded down with info cards when I worked on the hunt. There are fibers in the plastic that loops through the badge, so it doesn’t tear—mine never did. Just do yourself a favor and buy it. I’ve gotta find my other one, but I’m ordering another pack for six years from now where the backup breaks. If I order the five pack, it’ll last me until retirement, lol.

This is the best badge clip I have ever bought and the price is right for 2 clips.Likes:- The actual metal clip is secure against my side; it stays in place and doesn’t move at all, as well as it is flush against my pocket or waistband, unlike the clips you have to squeeze to secure the clip. Those types tend to fall off throughout the day.It is comfortable to wear; the clips you have to squeeze, to adhere the badge to your clothing, end up sticking me in the side.It is weighted good; again, to stay secure.The plastic piece with the snap that holds the actual badge is very secureIt has a ring to add a key for my file cabinet.It’s a good size overall; any smaller and that wouldn’t be the case.Dislikes:— None —

I'm rough on my products. Still going strong almost 5 years later. Do have to tighten the belt clip screw at times, but only maybe once a year, if that often. I gave extra one to my boss, who is just as abusive on his things, and he absolutely loves it. He has used so many over the years and he states this is by far the best one he has ever used. Would definitely purchase again if ever needed.

So I love the size and quality of this badge reel. It's got some weight to it, doesn't feel flimsy at all, and is very nice. But...every time I go to pull and tap my badge for access the reel comes off my scrub top...every single time. So I must always hold the badge clip onto my scrubtop before pulling my badge to tap. It's a little annoying, but overall this is a nice badge reel.

The round part is large. I would say about the size of a half dollar, maybe a bit bigger. But it is solid, and I got it because it also has a keyring on it. I work where I need my badge on me and I also have a few keys, one for my laptop lock, my desk lock, etc. This is awesome, clamps right on my belt and I have no worries of it falling off.Update: 2.5 years is how long one of them lasted. One day I went to badge in and noticed the string had caught and I think the screw in the back was coming loose. Threw it away, and now the second one that has been sitting there for 2.5 years waiting is in use. Way better than all those other cheap ones I get tons of a year but it never lasts more than couple months at best.

Heavy dutyNot too bulky

I bought this 2 pack badge reel about a month and a half ago and I've been using one for about a month solid. It looks great and it feels durable without being heavy. The line on it is much shorted than expected and it makes it hard for me to wear it at shoulder height (I'm 5'5) and be able to comfortably swipe my badge on the badge reader (which is just below my should) to get into my job. Also, the reel completely fell apart on me. It became loose and I noticed the screw holding it together was loosened. Before I could tighten it the entire thing fell apart. Turns out the screw isn't long enough to really hold the entire thing together. Good thing this is a two pack, which is the saving grace of this situtation.tldr;It looks nice but not might last long if you happen to work in a warehouse environment. Good price for a two pack.

I'm very pleased with these. They're a mite on the heavy side but are fine when attached to skirt / trouser belt-loops or belts. The quality is very good and the extendable cord is far more robust that the thread-like cords found in standard retractable reel pass holders which invariably snap within a few weeks or months even when I don't use the reel to extend the pass holder.

These little guys are lifesavers. I’m security at a site where a lot of the doors require key card access. I hook one to my shirt for quick and easy access. Only gripe would be you only get 2 for the price.
