Officemate Recycled Clipboard, Red, 1 Clipboard (83043) 9" x 12.5"

I didn't realize that there could be a disappointing review for a clipboard, but this thing surprised me. It's hard to described exactly why the design does this, but ultimately the clip creates deep creases in your paper that leave permanent marks on them. Pretty disappointed since I didn't realize from any of these reviews that it would do this to my papers. Not really that useful as a clipboard because of this, but it is a hard surface to write on so I guess that earns it at least one star.

I was hoping for a nice bright red clipboard for work. It's actually a dullish, deeper red. They riveted the metal clip onto the board, *after* covering the plastic backer with a thin saran wrap. Because of that, you end up with little pieces of seran wrap sticking out from underneath the metal part after you try to pull it off. There's no way to remove the metal clip to get the last bits of plastic wrap out from underneath it. I would presume they did this so that the board would be protected from scratches during production, except that my board was covered in scratches *after* I removed the saran wrap. I shoulda just gone to Staples or Office Depot.

Love that you could select colors and didn't have to buy 10 at a time. It is sturdy and hopefully durable - we'll see how long the clip lasts but it seems pretty strong. Some folks complained about getting the plastic wrap off around the clip area was difficult. I think they put the plastic on and THEN added the clip. Just get a flathead screwdriver or a butter knife out and use them to pull the plastic out or just use your hands and pull GENTLY. I suspect these might be less expensive locally but due to physical limitations I'm pretty much homebound and it would be with some difficulty for me to get to a retail store to buy one - and I certainly wouldn't make a trip just for a clipboard! This is the main reason I appreciate Amazon and sellers like these so much.

Excellent surface to work on, full rich color, and the board is sturdy. I use it everyday for reading reports and it appears to be able to withstand constant use. My one complaint is with the plastic wrapping covering the board during shipping.. Yes, as others have said it is not easy to remove. But I found another compalint -- the plasitic wrapping is actually stuck inside the clip, both front and back. It's as iff the plastic was put on the board and the clip mechanism was placed on top of it. Totally unnecessary to protect the board. I actually neeede tweezers and lot of finer pricking to get shards of plastic out of the clip mechanism.

I've had two of these clipboards crack in half. It seems like over time repeated small bending from daily use causes cracks to form in the plastic which then grow. I use the clipboard on my lap and transport it in a backpack together with books and papers. I use it for hours a day.The good: The clip is strong and doesn't loosen over time. The rivets don't loosen at all, so the whole thing feels very sturdy. They are lightweight. I like the style. They are cheap.The bad: They bend a little too much. The cracking mentioned above.

I use this for work where I constantly have packets of paper needing to be flipped through and scribbled on. I love the purple color. The clip works and the board itself is lightweight. The only thing I noticed, and did read in the reviews before I got it, was that the manufacturer must have wrapped it in the plastic packaging before putting the screws on the back, which results in us having to rip the plastic warp out from under the screws. It worked out fine though!

wellll made clip stronggggg to hold your item(s)! if need another will surely purchase. weight of... packing...arrival excellent. yes as some said covered with cellophane for protection. that's perfect. just make a slit in cellophane w/o cutting into clipboard...slowly pull cellophane off and when pulling from around the "clip" pull "slowly" and "patientlyyyy". GO AHEAD PURCHASE!

I bought this for my classroom to hold my teacher checklist, lesson plans and other important papers. The board is nice and solid, easy to write on while holding it. There's some flex to it but not enough to interfere with writing. I chose the purple for its high visibility and that's worked like a charm! Even on my cluttered (OK, disaster area) desk I am able to find the clipboard in a few seconds, no matter how deeply it's been buried.

I like that ( unlike hardboard ) a spot of rain, or wet hands, aren't going to make them get mushy.I like that they are acrylic, which I like ( polycarbonate has its place, like modular connectors for phones & ethernet, or for bulletproof "glass", but is generally aweful ).Acrylic is nicely rigid for writing on.I wish the low price had been on the colors I wanted, but for putting 1 in the garage & one in the bathroom, for emergency notes taking, both places being prone to humidity, plastic was required.Probably they will shatter if dropped, especially if cold.Hopes this helps!Salut, Namaste, & Kaizen!( :

I work in the legal field and I use a certain form all day everyday. I can keep a whack of these on the board and use the lil eyelet to hang it on my wall when it is not being used. I was hoping to be able to use this on my lap or arm of my chair while filing out the forms but I have found this to be a lil too flexible for my liking and need to keep it on a flat surface while I write. Love the colour though and price.

I was amazed at the quality of these clip boards. It has a small rubber piece in the centre of the clip to help hold paper. I ordered mine in the blue and they are surprisingly durable. For the price definitely 5 stars.

At 9 x 12 1/2, this is perfect for my needs. It arrived a little scratched, but nothing major. It'll probably be worse by the time I'm finished with it. The clip is strong. Good price for a great clipboard!

Had it for about a year now (light-medium use) and it's showing no signs of wear. The one minor problem is that the bit that lets you hang it feels very flimsy, but then again it hasn't broken yet.
