I initially misjudged this file
I've never used a glass file on my feet before, I've only used these glass files for my nails. I know they're highly effective on my nails, so I figured I'd get a matching foot file and see how it goes. I'm not a fan of pumice stones or metal files, so this glass file seemed perfect for me to try. For my first use, I tried using this on my feet after just getting out of the shower so that my feet would be softer and be easier to file.I started off using the fine side of the foot file to make sure I didn't risk tearing up my feet. Nothing happened after about 2 minutes of using this fine grain. So I decided to use the more coarse side of the file. It still felt like nothing was happening after a while. I noticed the grains on the file weren't so grainy anymore and went to run the file under some water in case I hadn't washed it well enough before my first use. Once the file itself was wet and I started using it on my foot again, I noticed a major difference in a white buildup in the water on the file. My foot still didn't feel like the callous was being worn off at all though after about another 30 seconds of use, but the water on the file was white like milk. I took the file to the sink and rinsed off the whitened water again and rubbed my thumb across it to wipe off any gunk that had gotten built up. I don't have a brush or anything else to clean this file and have no idea what to use to clean it.That's when I realized how effective this file really is. It absolutely shredded my thumb and I'm now left with an oval that's purplish because the skin is so thin on the thumbprint area after rubbing the file. It sort of hurts now a few days later still. Because of my thumb getting shredded I knew the file WAS working on my foot after all and I just needed patience. It turns out that my callouses were just that built up and I hadn't realized it. I haven't used a foot file in well over a year, so this mistake was entirely my fault. Realizing this and going back to what I was doing with my foot, I got all my callouses cleared up in less than 25 minutes, even the smaller ones that I normally skip because they're challenging to get with a pumice stone. I'm entirely impressed by this glass file.As I'm writing this, I think I realized why this happened. In my switch to glass nail files, my favorite detail was the fact that the file just glides across my nail. There's no coarse bumpiness that a traditional sandpaper-like emery board has. It's extremely easy to file down my nails because it doesn't have that grinding FEEL to it. It glides like butter. This foot file is the same sort of effect where even the more coarse side still produces a smooth glide feel while filing. I couldn't get that tactile feedback that my callouses were in fact being worn down. They were large and built up, but I wasn't getting that grinding feel feedback that they were being worn down successfully. It doesn't FEEL like a traditional file that I'm used to, but it works exceptionally well. I guess I can best describe it as a luxury item because you don't FEEL the same sort of wear and tear typical of other items, but your end effect is perfect feet. The only drawback to these items is the ability to accidentally go overboard with your filing when you're first learning how to handle it, but once you get it figured out, it's really a flawless product in my opinion. I've NEVER had feet this smooth before! As long as you don't file super fast and you make sure you pay attention while you're getting used to a glass file, this file is perfect. Just don't zone out while you're learning how to best use it and you'll be fine.

Great for heels and calluses on toes.
I use the gentler side to file my toenails and the rougher side for my calluses. When I am done I don't just rinse it, I drop a tiny drop of dish detergent on it and scour it with a very soft baby toothbrush. Good as new and ready for the next day. My feet are happy. I have a matching set for my fingernails. I appreciate the aesthetics of them. This heavy duty heel buffer is thicker than regular files which makes it easier to use (without dropping). I have really thick toenails, and I no longer have thick and cracking callouses on my heels and along the outer edges of my feet. My feet feel and look so much better now that I no longer avoid going barefoot or wearing sandals. My feet don't tear up stockings anymore either, which is something that before I started using this file my heels and feet were so bed that I didn't dare try to wear stockings. No other creams of amount of soaking and other kinds of foot callous remover has worked so well. Not even pumice stones. It has taken the hassle out of foot care for me. This came well packaged and quickly.

Does the job. Beefy, seems pretty well made
Thick, has some weight, and it overall seems to be decent quality and feels good in the hand. For me, the rough and fine sides are about ideal, and it definitely does the job for rough spots or peeling skin. It is indeed very easy to clean, and easy to sanitize with rubbing alcohol or hand sanitizer. Never thought I'd use something like this, but I actually like it.

Glad I bought the bigger one too
I bought some ceramic files about 20 years ago and they're great but getting them clean is difficult. This may not be a problem for most people but if you have toe nail fungus you don't want to spread it to an unaffected nail and you don't want someone to inadvertently use your nail file. I bought the 3 pack of smaller files which work fine but I'm glad I bought the larger one. It's great for grinding down a thick nail and gentle enough to remove calloused skin. Not much pressure is needed. Great find and buy.

Works Like a Charm!
I recently became a big fan of etched glass nail files and thought I'd order one of these to use on my feet and elbows. I just received this last night and have used it already. I'm really happy with the way it works. It's fast, painless and leaves my skin really smooth. I was impressed with the way it was packaged - see photos. There was no way it was going to break during shipping unless maybe a big truck ran over the box! It has a nice weight to it and is very easy to use. I like that it is much rougher on one side than the other. I just used it on my dry feet and it did a great job. A quick run under the faucet with a toothbrush and a little dish soap and it's ready for next time. I'm not really a candidate for using it in the shower; I've had two total knee replacements so balancing on one foot is not so easy anymore and I'd be afraid to drop it. I would definitely recommend this to keep your feet looking good this summer.

Not as great as it looks.
This file is great for a man's fingernails. It's big, heavy, and the fine side, used on my guitar playing nails, removes material quickly and smoothly, and doesn't clog. The coarse side, intended for heels, appears to be made by fusing bits of broken glass onto that side, and while it seems like a good idea, in practice it quickly fills and clogs, and no longer works. It turns into a bumpy heel rubber, and my heels don't need rubbing. Disappointed, I bought a metal file that worked much better. The heel debris fall right off from the metal file.

Je préfère largement aux limes en métal, plus efficace et plus douce je trouve. Juste un peu chère je trouve même si c’est du verre.

Brilliant results!
This foot file looks good, works well, is easy to use and clean.I use it on dry feet after my pedicure on wet feet using the stainless /sandpaper file (purchased on amazon). It smoothes my feet like nothing else I've used before. It passes the tights test where your feet don't catch on tights or socks any more. Cream your feet afterward and use the silicone socks (also on amazon) to help moisturise and you'll have brand new feet after one pedicure. For me definitely better results than I get in salons. From now on, I'll use the money for foot massage or reflexology and do my pedicure myself.Highly recommanded.

Only one of the best inventions EVER.
Just get it. You won't regret it and it'll be the last file you'll need because there's no regular replacements which are such a pain. Also extremely easy to disinfect - just put in a warm glass of dish soap and water and leave overnight, rinse.Feet are softer than the day I was born. Don't underestimate the wimpy smoother side either. It feels like it may not do anything because the glass feels smooth in comparison with the rougher side but it's the smoother side that turned a regular foot filing into baby soft skin. This file is better for people who don't have any foot issues like major callouses or cracks otherwise you'll be filing for some time. I use this with water in the shower, not dry. If you have normal skin, no medical issues, and find that other files are way too aggressive and make your feet rougher and more chopped up, use this.
