All in with Him

When Lauren Blakely announced that instead of just two books, there was actually going to be a third one added to her Men of Summer series, I confess that I was surprised and a wee bit anxious. My most recent experience with a duet that become a trilogy wasn't what I'd hoped it would be. I'd loved the first two books and had high hopes for the additional third; alas, I was left wishing I had stuck to the original two-book ending. So, you can understand why I was a tad nervous about book number three in a series I was absolutely smitten with. But gah! I should have known better. There's a reason why Blakely is one of my top go-to authors, and lordy, I can't recall her ever disappointing me.All In with Him finds Grant Blackwood and Declan Steele merging their lives after getting back together. With busy schedules thanks to their baseball careers, the days and nights they happen to be at home at the same time matter. But while Grant is a social butterfly who believes in making the most of his celebrity to bring attention to issues that matter, Declan prefers a more quiet home life and giving his support to causes from behind the scenes. There's no questioning how much these two men love each other, but will doubts about being the man the other needs overshadow their joint vision for a future together?Crushing with Him provided an inkling of what was to come; Scoring with Him was the beginning of passionate affair that ended all too soon; Winning with Him had the reigniting of a love that deserved commitment and finally got it; and All in with Him was the happily-ever-after that Grant and Declan had been working towards since their paths intersected when a talented rookie met his crush who turned out to be his first and forever love. The Men of Summer series is one of my favorite reads this year, and one that I can easily and highly recommend to romance readers. If you're still waffling on whether to pick these books up or not, I suggest you get on it as soon as humanly possible; do make sure to read this love story in order. Five-plus stars for All In with Him.

As a romance reader, there’s a few things I expect when reading a romance novel. First, I expect a love story. Insta-love, hard-fought, sweet and swoony or a good old second-chance romance, it doesn’t matter to me as long as I get swept up in the couple’s love. Second, I expect heat—I need to not only feel their chemistry but I want to see it play out. For me personally, that means I don’t read closed-door, fade-to-black or “clean” romances. Finally, I expect a happily ever after, or at the bare minimum, a happy for now. After spending a few hours connecting with the characters and becoming invested in their stories, I absolutely need—no require—this closure, this ending on a high note, in order for me to move on from their story to the next one I pick up. It’s a non-negotiable, a hard limit, my personal, literary line in the sand.A happy for now can absolutely be a satisfying end to a story, especially in one like Declan and Grant’s which spanned five years. Just knowing that they made it back to each could have been enough. But sometimes it doesn’t shake out that way. Sometimes a happy for now winds up feeling more like it’s just the beginning of a couple’s story regardless of the long and bumpy road they traveled to get to that point. This unfinished, just-getting-started feeling is what compelled Blakely to add All In With Him, the surprise third book to her Men of Summer Series. While Declan and Grant’s story was technically complete at the end of Winning With Him, it was, in a way, just their starting point. While I was definitely happy that they were riding off into the sunset together, but like Blakely, I too felt as if there was more—something even more significant—to their romance, so I was beyond thrilled that she decided to continue their story.Declan and Grant had a lot to overcome just to be together in the first place, but their real challenges began after they got together. It’s one thing for a couple to come together, but it’s another thing for them to actually stay together. That’s the hard part, that’s the test—that’s the story. So still flushed with all that heat blazing between them, Blakely gave her readers a real, raw and unvarnished deep dive into those early days, weeks and months of this couple’s relationship as they opened up to each other about their wants and dreams, faced their differences and hashed them out. Every couple goes through this, it’s part of the process of committing oneself to another and merging your lives, and this peek into Declan and Grant’s process secured them as one of my top favorite Blakely couples.Romantic, sexy and emotional, All In With Him was a wonderful expansion of Declan and Grant’s love story. This couple was playful and fun, a little bit competitive, blisteringly sexy and deeply in love. I was invested in their story the moment I met them. A full-spectrum, consuming love story, the Men of Summer series was my most anticipated read of the summer. It surpassed every expectation that I had, and it is not only a new top favorite romance from Blakely, it’s also a top favorite for the year. All In With Him is the third and final book in the Men of Summer series and should be after Scoring With Him and Winning With Him. I’m so happy they got their well deserved HEA or I would of been sobbing my heart out.The chemistry is off the charts (the sexy times so steamy hot that it will melt your e-reader) and the banter is hilarious. Yeah, I'm like that with Declan and Grant. I mean, I'm not sure where else Lauren can go from here, but I'm already having withdrawals."I want it all with you. You're my person; you're my home. You're my happily ever after."In this book, we pick up from Winning with Him where Declan has moved in with Grant, and it's that treading of new relationship/ending of the honeymoon period where your own doubt comes trickling in, the 'am I enough' thoughts, and whether the person you love more than anything wants the same things in life as you. They are polar opposites in the sense Grant is a social butterfly, he loves the dance, the atmosphere of being in crowds, whereas Declan is more quiet, more private, so when they try to merge the two, you can see the struggles. But instead of fighting, instead of allowing the doubts to fester, they talk. It's not a typical book that's kinda the 'will they/won't they' sometimes books are, it really is a beautiful ending to their beautiful love story so far.Because really.That ending?I'm not going to say anymore... but I will say my heart swelled with so much love and pride for the two of them.And also, Lauren... if you're reading this... If there was a fourth, or a fifth.. or even a tenth book for Grant and Declan, I would one-click that so fast I could probably create a new speed.'He's mine, and I'm his, and that's just the way our love story was always going to be.'

Declan and Grant are learning about how to have a proper relationship and it isn't all sunshine n roses. The one wonderful thing that these two have learned is to talk to each other about everything. Lauren really is amazing at knowing what people love in her books and has taken to writing M/M wonderfully. This book is the absolutely perfect HEA for Grant and Declan. So much so that I'm going to have fun reading them all over again.

I really enjoyed getting to know Grant and Declan and their journey to HEA . A beautiful love story !

What an awesome book.All in With Him i book three in The Men of Summer series , could this book been any better, no way! as it’s absolutely perfect.As Grant and Declan continue their journey as in life not everything is easy ..Still pursuing their sport making the distance between them extremely hard .How they work through situations is wonderful always thinking of each other… taking time to listen and work together in any situation…and love , their love for each other is huge and magnificent….This whole series is 100% perfect , the whole series is a definite re- read ..The epilogue is —- you need to read to know..Sexy , sensual with a lot of trust that make these guys who they are ..
