Not bad for an entry microscope
If you have never used a digital microscope, then this is a very good starter. But if you have used professional lab microscopes, like myself (Nikon, Olympus, Leica, etc.), then you will be disappointed. I'll try to be as objective in this review as possible.First, magnification: with a CM scale places on the bottom of the holder, I measured about 5.6x magnification with 1x digital zoom (image attached) and 9x magnification with 4x digital zoom. Obviously, there seems to be no correlation between digital zoom and actual magnification, because it should have been about 25x on-screen magnification with the 4x digital zoom. The highest on-screen magnification you can get is 110x (microscope moved closest to the object; image attached) with 1x digital zoom and about 155x when combined with 4x digital zoom.Pixel resolution: I was very excited when I read the specification of 12mp resolution because it is the same resolution that I get with my Samsung Note 9 rear camera. The difference is that the microscope has very poor dpi resolution which you can see when you magnify one of those 12mp pictures. The JPEG file size of a 12mp image from my Note9 is 2.5MB whereas the file size of a 12mp image from the camera is about 0.75MB even though the file properties show 4032x3024, 24-bit depth. This result is from the "Fine" setting on quality and "Strong" sharpness from the menu settings. Also, I found that it makes no difference if you capture an image in 1x vs. 4x digital zoom. The captured file has the same magnification so the digital zoom only seems to apply to on-screen viewing.Other aspects: The microscope stand is actually very well built but I wish that the tilt feature was adjustable using a thumb screw rather than a 10mm wrench. The focus button is flimsy and not good for fine focus adjustment. You are better off adjusting the height on the stand for finer focus adjustments. I like the fact that I can connect to my PC so that I can share the magnified image during a virtual meeting.Overall, I will likely keep this microscope because it has proven handy for things like pulling a wood sliver out of my finger. It is an overall good value for the money but because of the discrepancies noted above, I honestly cannot give it 5-stars.

Very Nice Microscope, but Will Not Work to View Coins
I ordered this microscope to view and take pictures of coins in a coin collection. It will not work for that. At 1X, with the microscope at the highest possible vertical position, the only coin that will fit in the screen is a very small US Three Cent piece (see pictures). When looking at a US silver dollar, you will only see about 20% of the full coin (see pictures). The LED lights cannot be used with coins either; too much reflection (see pictures). ... I'm trying to work on a way to extend the vertical mount so that the microscope can be raised to a higher position. I believe a fix like this might be possible. Too bad that the manufacturer doesn't offer such an extension.

AWESOME Digital Microscope
The media could not be loaded. I'm a teacher and I recently purchased this digital microscope. This microscope is AWESOME!! You can see microsocope living organism, bugs etc... that cannot be seen with the natural eye with this microscope. In the video this is pond water, looks relatively clear, but under the scope you can see bugs swimming around that is impossible to see with your natural eye. I have another video of the Texas Lilac flower, under the scope you cam see several micorscopic bugs crawling around on it but not with your natural eye, makes you think twice about smelling flowers lol! My students have LOVED bringing things to class to look at under this scope. We've looked at bugs, spiders, bees, various salt, plants, fossils, moon rocks, shark teeth etc... I am very pleased with my purchase.

There is no way this is 1200x magnification
This thing might have it's uses for some magnification, but it is clearly not 1200x. 400x magnification is needed to see cells, this does not even come close to that. I would guess it's magnification is less than 100x.If you take a look at the top reviews that have pictures, you can even notice that the microscope they are posting pictures of isn't even the same one that is in the product photos. Seems pretty sketchy

Many problems - looking for something better
I bought this to look at sub-mm size features in stones. First, the max image size is about 10mmx20mm, so if you are buying this to image whole coins larger than 10mm, won't work. Second, magnification is nowhere near 1200x, more like 100x as others suggest. That did allow me to see features I couldn't with the macro lenses I have, and the LCD display is decent as are the lights. Third, the micro-USB to USB plug is defective, in that the micro-USB end barely fits into the receptacle on the device. Others mentioned this. When I did get the plug to fit in all the way, it stopped working completely. Fourth, my computers (MacBooks) don't recognize this device, even before the USB plug failed entirely. I wrote the company and they didn't have a solution other than to repeat what is in the manual, which doesn't work. Fifth, the images saved to the SD card are in a squashed square format, unlike what is shown on the screen. There is no way I could find to change this. It is a defect. So I have no way to get usable images from this device, which for just 100x is expensive. This could be useful but it is just too cheaply made and defective. Sending it back.

Great quality microscope for kids and adults of all ages
A high-quality microscope for children and adults of all ages. The microscope is liquid crystal digital. Easy to use. Clear the screen. It is easier to see a clear picture. It is very easy to magnify anything on the microscope. Excellent picture quality. In any car classroom, it is ideal for children to understand the earth or other things in the environment. Easy to store when not in use. Good quality. It can be used by my seven-year-old child and my husband and me. Very suitable for teaching children the knowledge of science. Excellent value for money. Very satisfied with this project. This will be a great gift for those who love science or want to learn.
